This is a private lodging [Kokoro]. This is a private house limited to one group per day, where you can experience the rich nature of Shiga prefecture and enjoy rural life. It is a nice, calm space that can accommodate up to 10 people. Please relax with your family and friends. It is about 1 hour by car from downtown Kyoto, and if you come by train, it is about 20 minutes by bus from JR Kosei Line Azumigawa Station, or about 10 minutes by taxi. It is popular with overseas customers, families, and groups. A BBQ set is also available for rent. We also rent BBQ equipment for a fee, so please let us know. Free parking is available on the premises. Parking is available for up to 3 regular vehicles. For large vehicles, it may be difficult to park 3, so please inquire in advance. If you contact us in advance, we can rent it for a fee. There are also plenty of outdoor facilities in the surrounding area, so please use it as a base for your activities. This is a 10-minute walk from JR Omihachiko Station and an 8-minute walk to the nearest Biwako no Hama. You can see Lake Biwa from the building. Pets are also welcome!　You can enjoy local life without worrying about inns, hotels, or group glamping accommodations. Fiber optic internet, Wi-Fi available throughout the house, play room, work desk, large TV with terrestrial and on-demand channels. Enjoy life on Lake Biwa with your loved ones and pets, from a few nights to a longer stay. The floor on the ground floor is completely dirt-free and is maintained only with edible oil, so it is safe for both people and pets. As an infection and hygiene measure, all rooms! are equipped with ventilation fans (Lossnai) that can ventilate with the outdoors and plasma cluster air conditioners, with many fans and circulators, and air purifiers with ozone sterilizers, and even a Roomba on each floor.

Haruya Guesthouse

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

To ensure you enjoy the stay to the fullest, I set check-in and check-out time to both 12:00 Noon. So you can stay up for 24 hours with one night booking. YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.

Omi's Machiya "Kado" Traditional building preservation area

This is the only guest house (entire house rental) facing Shinmachi Street in an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. The streets lined with merchants' houses, built in the late Edo period to the Meiji era, give you a strange feeling as if time has stopped when you step into it. This Shinmachi neighborhood is important not only for its scenery but also as a historical site. This is a very rare accommodation where you can stay in such an area.
