Please spend as much time as you like in a quiet residential area, surrounded by the atmosphere of the ancient capital of Kyoto. It is about an 8-minute walk from the central exit of JR Kyoto Station (Kyoto Tower side), 30 minutes by the new express train to Osaka, 60 minutes by train to Nara, and has excellent access to sightseeing spots in Kyoto! From the bus stop, which is a 2-minute walk from the accommodation, you can also access tourist attractions in Kyoto by taking a single bus. (Bus 205 to Kinkakuji Temple, Bus 206 to Sanjusangen-do, etc.) The approximately 53-square-metre building was renovated in 2021. It can accommodate up to 5 guests (including children). The private rental accommodation "Takasegawa Shichijo" is a fully renovated 115-year-old traditional Kyoto townhouse. The traditional townhouse, which forms part of the beautiful scenery of Kyoto, has been redesigned as a building with high airtightness and thermal insulation, while retaining its original structure, so that you can enjoy a comfortable stay even in the humid and hot summers and harshly cold winters that are unique to Kyoto. From the Japanese-style room on the first floor, you can see the tsubo garden, which is designed in the image of a "roji" (*a garden that leads to a tea room). There is also a sofa in the corridor where you can relax and enjoy the view of the tsubo garden. In the evening, you can spend a relaxing time watching the illuminated tsubo garden. There are two bedrooms on the second floor: a Japanese-style room with two single beds and a Western-style room with two single beds. If there are 5 or more guests staying, it is a little inconvenient, but you can lay futons in the Japanese-style room on the first floor and use it as a bedroom. The kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils and tableware for simple cooking.

This area is called Shimawara, one of the six former flower districts, and is the oldest of them, so you can see old traditional Japanese-style architecture within walking distance.
