“Everything was as described - lovely thick towels and very clean white bed linen. Lovely to have breakfast provided - tea/coffee, juice and choice of cereals. Very central location but peaceful at night.”
This self contained holiday cottage offers a chance to get closer to the workings of a family dairy farm. It is situated in the North York Moors National Park, midway between the moors and the coast and just a fifteen minute drive (or slightly longer bus ride) from Whitby. The accomodation is unusually spacious for a one bedroomed cottage, it is light, warm and very well insulated but don’t forget there is the potential for noise and smells from the farm!
“The cottage was perfect. Plenty of room for the two of us but cosy at the same time. We were snuggly warm, with the underfloor heating being a real treat for tired feet after a day of walking. We also enjoyed being on a working farm especially being able to watch the cows. From the cottage we were able to explore both the coast and the moors, as well as going for walks and runs locally, without needing to get in the car. Despite the circumstances that COVID-19 brought, Barbara and Alan were thoughtful and welcoming hosts. We would recommend the cottage to anyone wanting a base from which to explore a beautiful part of the country or a hide away in which to relax and read.”
A quite residential street of 6 houses, rarely does a car pass by. A fully modernised cottage, your stay will be quite, warm, comfortable in a clean and relaxed home from home. Cross the road and the seaside is on the door step with stunning views of the beach, funicular, pier and Huntcliff. The cottage is ideally located with immediate access to local shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs, community centre, churches, book shop, train station, bus routes and much more.
“In the end, we didn't see Rauf & Bobby, his young son for the rest of our trip but we had a comfortable stay and Rauf was very welcoming on our arrival. Room is quiet and airy with good block out curtains. Couldn't work out the TV, may be some instructions would be useful. Location was great, just 1 minute to the sea and 10 mns to the pier. Enjoyed The Ship , a pub on the beach and would be happy to stay at Rauf's place again !”
