Family-friendly holiday rentals in Steenwijk

Wonderful cottage, no matter which window you look, you only see greenery. We were there with four adults and twins (10 months old). Very clean and no unnecessary stuff which was very suitable for babies. The heating in the rooms takes longer to get warm, in winter you probably have to use the fireplace more heavily. The kitchen is not necessarily equipped for cooking 5-course menus, but everything necessary is available. Too bad it was over so quickly!

A charming spot to enjoy nature and truly disconnect. The owner was exceptionally kind and welcoming. We were two couples, and while the place felt a bit smaller than it appeared in the photos, it was still perfectly comfortable for a short stay. Highly recommended!

It was just nice and we didn't lack anything. The accommodation was cozily furnished and we felt right at home. The area invites you to stroll, but we didn't feel the need to leave the yard. On the terrace we were able to enjoy the good weather and the time has passed while watching the farm animals. A place to unwind and come down. The breakfast service and the groceries from the farm shop were great!

Fabulous stay at Cottage Paulus What a great experience! The forest cottage "Paulus" is tastefully decorated and is located in a beautiful, quiet place in the middle of nature. Exactly what we needed to completely recharge. We were there with our two dogs, and they too had the time of their lives. The spacious, fully fenced garden was perfect – safe and large enough for endless snooping and scrambling around. Fareen, the hostess, is incredibly friendly and helpful. From the first contact, everything felt familiar and relaxed. She was quick to respond to questions and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended for anyone who loves peace, nature and an animal-friendly place with character. We will definitely come back!

A lovely place with plenty of space to enjoy. The hot tub and pool are really added value. We enjoyed ourselves every second.

Had a wonderful stay with Barbera and Jurjen. Due to the orientation of the cottage, you have the idea that you are staying all alone in the middle of nature. In the morning, you wake up to the stork of the storks on their nests, and in the morning sun you can enjoy the peace, quiet and beauty of the area. Earnewald is within walking distance of the cottage and offers the much needed amenities. Wonderful stay, highly recommended!

Remote enough to be peaceful. Close enough to access everything we needed. Plenty of room, careful attention to detail, a lot of unexpected bonuses like food, wine, spa elements, etc. Very comfortable and easy. Ina was very gracious and we had no issues.

Had a great weekend. Enjoyed the nice garden with various seats and of course the wellness. Cottage really has all the comforts and the bed was very comfortable. Beautiful quiet area and a 20-30 minute drive from various nice cities. Joop and Thea are very friendly and are there for you immediately. In short, highly recommended!

We stayed here for Christmas and New Year. It is a very cozy cottage. Sparkling clean and equipped with every comfort. Marlies had taken the trouble to decorate the cottage in Christmas atmospheres. There was even a Christmas tree. She also had a delicious Christmas turban at the bakery. We really felt at home. We had some bad luck with the weather but you can walk here with various excursions within walking distance. Maybe not the cheapest place to stay but really worth the money.

We stayed here over the Easter holidays and it was beautiful. The apartment was very clean, super equipped and comfortable. Communication with Ria worked great and we had a great few days, thank you for that!

We had a great time at Annedoor's place. Check-in was super easy, Annedoor showed us around and explained everything. The cottage is in the countryside, it is very quiet and you can walk with dogs in the adjacent forest. We thought it was nice to be woken up by the rooster in the morning:) The cottage was totally cozy and we felt very comfortable. We particularly liked the fireplace and the numerous books, CDs and records. You could definitely make yourself comfortable. We will be happy to come back for a little break! :)

Very nice, communicative hostess. The surroundings were very nice to walk the dog. The cottage has everything you need. Beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. We had nice conversations with Trienie and she gave us good tips for doing things. We will be happy to return.

Lucy is a very nice and welcoming host. My and my son really enjoyed the peace at her place, and the nature and how she is gardening with respect for nature and for the environment. Very inspirering. Thanks a million!

Quietly located in green area just outside Apeldoorn, clean and comfortable, wonderfully spacious breakfast, friendly hosts great value for money. Recommend!

Cosy cottage in a very peaceful area. Jacinta and Paul and lovely hosts. Breakfast (incuding fresh eggs from resident chickens) exceeded expectations.

What a nice place to stay during this period. Everything is available, quiet and in the morning with your coffee in the sun. You can tell by the layout and design: what guests need has been thought about. Located between two natural parks and the Fochteloerveen, a 20-minute drive away, Diever is an ideal base for hiking. And also plenty of restaurants open now. Drenthe is on our list for repetition. Thanks Niek and Joke

It's a lovely quiet cottage. The terrace on the Erdwal offers beautiful views over the Drenth nature. For me as a nature photographer, there is a lot to discover directly in the area. The garden also offers sufficient privacy. I loved my stay.

we stayed 4 nights..the bungalow was very spacious and quiet. during our stay, evening always bit cold so unfortunately we didn't use the outside space. but extremely good place to stay away from busy stressful city life and take relaxation in this nature surrounding bungalow. specially host Ria, extremely friendly and very responsive any time. recommended for everyone 🇳🇱🫶

What a peaceful, relaxing place! Very private, spacious and super clean. The hosts were very responsive. And the saunas are fantastic!! Easy 5 min bike ride into the beautiful town and to the supermarket. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Very nice apartment on a picturesque courtyard with a great garden. The apartment itself has a fireplace and is very cozy. There are toys for children indoors and outdoors and lots of animals around. There is a swimming pool nearby and beautiful cities, e.g. Elburg, are also close by. We will be happy to come back!

Really a nice and cozy stay with a lovely view on garden and nature. You can walk onto the heath in no time. Everything that is needed is also present in the garden everything perfect. The outdoor kitchen can also be used with rain due to the spacious canopy. Friendly hostess who also responds quickly to the app.

We stayed during winter time and enjoyed Arenda‘s and Klaas‘ cozy place very much! The big main room was perfect for our group of 8 people to spend time together, do some cooking etc. The hosts were super friendly at all times caring about our wellbeing! We even had the chance to see Klaas feeding the Alpacas 😁 Overall, we can highly recommend the cottage!

Rose's cottage is very cozy and the garden offers a lot of privacy. We felt right at home. We had a wonderfully relaxing weekend with our daughter of 8 in the cozy park on which the cottage is located. Around the corner the heath and a beautiful sand drift nearby the cozy Nunspeet with the best Italian ice cream at "Di Verso" . We would love to come back to relax and explore the beautiful surroundings even further. Thank you Rose!!
