The Santa Fe Depot Room - The Shady Lady Bed & Breakfast

The Santa Fe route went through Gainesville and made our town a bustling hub of commerce. The original depot housed a Harvey House and today its a museum for visitors going from Fort Worth to Oklahoma City. Our citizens rallied together to restore the depot to its former grandeur. Our room honors its legacy with original colors of the Santa Fe line, an antique claw foot tub for a relaxing soak. There is also a decorative fireplace, while lovely, current insurance restrictions prohibit its use.

You won’t want to leave this charming, one-of-a-kind place. We know you will feel right at home. You will be staying in a private room in our home. You will have a semi-private bathroom. We would love to interact with you while you’re here, if you choose to, or will respect your privacy if you prefer to keep to yourself. The pool is open seasonally. This was Sarah’s room, the original Madam in the 1880’s when the building housed the Grand Central Saloon and brothel. Guests enjoy its luxurious setting with rich fabrics, sitting room and a jacuzzi tub. There is also a decorative fireplace, although lovely, current insurance restrictions prohibit its use.
