The Clay District really is the heart and soul of St Austell Bay - only locals seem to know and love the sweeping abandoned open cast clay pits but I kinda wish others would share it too. Unique is an over used term but the Clay Trails really do define 'here'.

Amazing cycling around the Eden Project and into the clay country. Wide views of the coastline, fascinating country side on and off road. Leave from Tregrehan Garden

The series of trails and cycle tracks goes from st Austell through clay mining land all the way to the Eden project. You can walk there in a couple of hours and get a bus back.

If you bring your bikes you could always explore from our drive through the clay trails towards Eden and around. You could even get into Eden Cheaper if you cycle there.

Fabulous for cycling, walking, running and 360 degree views of Cornwall from the coast to the moors. Sunset and sunrise is best.
