Manor House Cottage self catering rural location
Manor House Cottage is located in the small hamlet of Holme-On-Swale 7 miles from the market town of Thirsk which is known for its connection to James Herriott and within easy reach of North Yorkshires National Parks. Set within the grounds of the Manor House, It is a quirky upside down cottage with a well appointed modern kitchen, two bedrooms and bathroom on the ground floor with sitting room upstairs, private garden with table and chairs. There are no other holiday cottages in the grounds.

Charming 19th Century property
A tranquil place you won’t want to leave. Catton Hall is a grand Victorian property full of character with two beautiful bedrooms, a drawing room, dining room and kitchen. Enjoy a cosy night in front of the open fire, under the stars by the Haha or snuggled in your private woodland. Breakfast in our bright rustic kitchen or at ‘The Shack’, our on-site cafe. Stunning views across the paddocks where horses, sheep, hens and pigs graze. We also have bee hives! We look forward to welcoming you.

Willow Cottage 4 bed, cosy stopover, dogs welcome
Willow cottage is a homely, self-contained bungalow ideally situated for stop offs on long journeys and with everything needed for short breaks or working away from home. It has a well equipped kitchen, bathroom, three bedrooms (2 singles, 1 double) and a bed settee in the kitchen diner sleeping up to 5 people, a lounge, TV and wifi connection. The owner lives separately in an extension adjoining the rear of the property. We are unable to take dogs between 15 March to 20 April 2026.

Skipton House Annex has plenty of character, rural charm and is ideally located near the A1 in-between North York Moors and Dales. Set over two levels, the large open plan kitchen/dining room, shower/loo and entrance hallway are on the ground floor with a living/TV room and bedroom up the spiral staircase on the first floor. There are French doors that open up to access the courtyard. The loo/shower is located on the ground floor and courtyard is shared with main house.

We’re close to both the historic towns of Thirsk & Northallerton for retail therapy & fabulously famous afternoon tea!

Home to the award winning museum, 'The World of James Herriot, the attractions of York and Harrogate are all within easy access. Thirsk also prides itself in its racecourse where flat racing can be experienced through the summer.
