La Lampisterie - Converted workshop on cycle route

Step back in time at La Lampisterie, a beautifully restored former railway workshop in the heart of Southern Burgundy. Built in 1889, this unique stone building once housed the vital operation of the old station and was where all the signal and carriage lamps were maintained, cleaned and refueled. Today, this piece of history has been transformed into a characterful and comfortable gîte with direct access to the Voie Verte, a 75km paved cycling path that follows the route of the old railway.

For private stays or business trips, we provide a 50 m² accommodation on two levels, completely renovated, comfortable (mattresses changed at the end of 2021), fully equipped (kitchen, linen). Located in a quiet hamlet in the countryside. Small shops 3 minutes by car, Cluny 25 minutes, Chalon-sur-Saône 35 minutes. Away from major roads. The accommodation is an outbuilding of our property with a shared courtyard. There is a picnic area and parking not attached to the accommodation.

This old barn where my grandfather and then my dad pressed the grapes, from this time there remains the screw of the press which proudly stands in the center of the living room. From the village you will visit the world-renowned vineyards as well as the Route des Grands Crus. Nearby you will discover the historic sites of Clunysois, Tournus, the route of the Romanesque Churches, the many castles or the Morvan Natural Park. Two modern bikes (M-F) with helmets are available free of charge during the stay.
