“Georgias dreamy house was a perfect location to us. The large terrasse invites you to sit outside and watch the magnificent village Velanidia and the ocean at the same time. Some beaches are nearby and you have some hiking trails starting just in front of the house. For us it was the perfect spot to leave a stressful year behind, relax and to enjoy the quiet and beautiful evenings. Georgia is a perfect host and she really wants the guest to have a good time. As the only restaurant of the village was closed, due to renovation, she even cooked us a lovely meal before our arrival and filled up the fridge with all essentials for breakfast and lunch for several days. We had a wonderful week. Thank you for that. The village is a safe and a spiritual place. A mini market provides you with all necessaries.”
A delightful retreat where you feel at home and inspired immediately, surrounded by the beauty of nature, mountains, sea and the welcoming people and pets. Opening windows of the delightful room (former painter's room), you'll be welcomed by a gentle sea breeze and a magnificent view on Cape Maleas. Peace of mind and spirit, hospitality and harmony with nature: it is the ideal homestay for couples in love, adventure (solo or duo) travellers and artists in residence aiming to focus on their work.
“This is a little angle of paradise, where real starry nights and extraordinary sunrises above the ocean happen. The room is very shiny, stylish, clean and comfortable. Because you are in nature, you might find some insects, but you can easily keep them away by using the zappers they provide. John and Christos serve a delicious breakfast every day on a stunning terrace in front of the ocean. The homemade apricot jam was very tasty. They are kind and friendly people who really care about their guests. Don’t be afraid to go through a very steep gravel road to get there, “paradise is inaccessible and has bugs”, Christos said, although you don’t really find bugs in your room. ”
Velanidia is a village located in the southernmost part of continental Greece. Its architecture and natural environment resemble Islands of the Aegean. There are narrow picturesque alleys with total absence of cars and remarkable trekking trails. Within short distances, one can visit the Byzantine castle-town of medieval Monemvasia, the magnificent Kastania Cave, the world famous Elafonisos (Simos beach) and much more. The house has a Cycladic style with its gaze upon the Aegean Sea.
“Twenty five years ago my husband and I travelled around the Peloponnesus for several months. This year we returned with our son and daughter, eighteen and sixteen years old. We were a bit worried that the Peloponnesus we fell in love with didn't exist anymore. But in the village Velonidia and especially in this comfortable house, with a fantastic view on the Aegean Sea, we could experience the Peloponnesus as we remembered it. The greek hospitality of Virginia was heartwarming. Thank you Virginia for your delicious, self made cheesepie and the nice converations we had!”
