I really enjoyed 3 days in Balk with the very friendly Judith and Jeroen. Beautiful homestay, super clean and tidy. Beautiful area within walking distance of Slotermeer. Beautiful garden with various seating areas where you can relax and read breakfast. The surroundings are also beautiful, in my opinion the most beautiful part of Friesland. I would 100% recommend this homestay and I will definitely return here. Thank you very much for everything!

Luka’s Hut is bliss. Gorgeous, relaxing setting. Lovely decor and outdoor spaces. Fantastic sauna. Well-supplied kitchen. Welcoming for our dog and thoughtfully provisioned for comfort.

Relaxing days in quiet surroundings. Tulip fields can be reached in 40 minutes by car, the coast in 30 minutes. Lent us bikes to explore the nature reserve nearby which was very nice.

The stay is worth the price. However, it is worth having your own basic equipment of kitchen ingredients with you, if you want to cook as wonderfully with the wonderful view from the kitchen to the sea;-). (You will have to buy everything - salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, spices, etc.) But the jumbo in the village is a great shop (7 min. in the car) and the essentials would also be available in the campsite shop. 4 minutes by car/10-15 min. by foot) However, the towels for the bathroom are offered and included. You don't need to bring anything. Look forward to unforgettable days at sea!

Amazing place, very peaceful. The hosts are incredibly nice and very helpful. We took the recommended wooden boat for a tour around the town and it was magical.

We had a pleasant stay. The accommodation is well equipped, the bedding is of quality. Right in the middle of nature and exotic. I would recommend it in a second.

What a lovely little place, right in the heart of the old city, super close to harbour and restaurants. We used the train station a lot, which is only a 10 minute walk away. The house is clean, modern and has all amenities. Communication with Jouke was easy and we received quick responses. We would stay here again in a hearbeat!

Very nice stay in good weather. The pellet stove has been life-saving for cool nights. The wind woke us up a little because we are not used to camping. Peter is a warm host who takes the time to meet each of his hosts and even makes the effort to speak French. He doesn't hesitate to help if needed. The estate is friendly and well equipped for all kinds of leisure especially for children. I enjoyed staying in this accommodation in contact with nature and discovering the beautiful landscapes around.

We stayed at Hester's apartment for 5 days. We were greeted by Hester in a very friendly way and received all the necessary explanations in a very good German, which made communication easier. Hester was also available at all times and could be on site within a minute. She also gave us valuable tips for things to do and restaurants. The apartment itself is sufficiently large and conveniently furnished for two people. Everything you needed for everyday life was there. We particularly enjoyed the location of the apartment. It is located on the roof of a former cake factory and is accessed via an external staircase leading to a spacious terrace. You can enjoy the sun all day long. From up there you get a good impression of Melkworum, a 300-soul village in West Frisia. We especially enjoyed the natural background noise generated by birds of all kinds. See you soon!
