While the exterior retains the atmosphere of a historic Kyoto townhouse, the interior is a space that harmonizes Japanese tradition and modernity. When you enter the entrance, you can enjoy the seasonal nature of Kyoto's unique tsubo garden, which is like a cut-out of the scenery in the mountains. The facility is a Kyoto townhouse with elegant taste, decorated with paintings by Japanese painters and decorations by craftsmen. It can accommodate up to 9 people in a spacious 100 ㎡ space. It is spacious enough to relax with family or friends, and is the perfect place to "travel like you live in the ancient city of Kyoto". There is also a kids' space for children to enjoy, so families with children can also have a comfortable stay. Nijo Castle is within walking distance, but access to major tourist attractions such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Kinkaku-ji Temple, Arashiyama, Gion, and Kyoto Imperial Palace is also good from the bus stop right next to the facility. The building, furniture, and appliances are all new and beautiful. It is a 3LDK. This house is perfect for families or multiple groups. It can accommodate up to 9 people. The accommodation is in a quiet residential neighborhood that is well located, 5 minutes on foot from Yamagoe Station on the Tozai Subway Line and 8 minutes on foot from JR Yamagoe Station, with good security. JR Yamashiro Station is one stop (5 minutes) from JR Kyoto Station. This area is home to many people, so there are many supermarkets, 24-hour convenience stores, restaurants, and bars, so you'll have no trouble finding things while traveling. The house is in a residential neighborhood, so it's very quiet at night, so you can enjoy a stay and experience as if you were living in Japan. You can access all of Kyoto's tourist attractions by public transportation such as trains and buses from the nearest station, JR Yamko Station and Yamko Subway Station. It is also easy to get to Kansai Airport, Osaka, Nara, Tokyo, and many other places. The highway (Kyoto East IC) is a 3-minute drive from the inn. * Free parking is available for 1 car in the parking lot about 300 meters from the house. The private rental accommodation "Takasegawa Shichijo" is a fully renovated 115-year-old traditional Kyoto townhouse. The traditional townhouse, which forms part of the beautiful scenery of Kyoto, has been redesigned as a building with high airtightness and thermal insulation, while retaining its original structure, so that you can enjoy a comfortable stay even in the humid and hot summers and harshly cold winters that are unique to Kyoto. From the Japanese-style room on the first floor, you can see the tsubo garden, which is designed in the image of a "roji" (*a garden that leads to a tea room). There is also a sofa in the corridor where you can relax and enjoy the view of the tsubo garden. In the evening, you can spend a relaxing time watching the illuminated tsubo garden. There are two bedrooms on the second floor: a Japanese-style room with two single beds and a Western-style room with two single beds. If there are 5 or more guests staying, it is a little inconvenient, but you can lay futons in the Japanese-style room on the first floor and use it as a bedroom. The kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils and tableware for simple cooking.

京町家コテージkarigane

Built in the early Showa era and long used as a tea ceremony classroom, the townhouse has been reborn as a private rental inn, "Kyomachiya Cottage karigane". It is a 1-minute walk to the hot springs and Daikokuji Temple, which has deep ties to tea. Shino, with its unique cafes, coffee roasters, delicious Japanese confectionery stores, bakeries, and soba shops. Please use the carefully restored Kyomachiya as your base for sightseeing in northern Kyoto, where time flows slowly, with a focus on natural materials and traditional craftsmanship by Miyadai Koge and Saigo craftsmen.

Reikaku Yasaka was a building in ruins with the floor tilted by at least 30cm when we discovered this hidden jewel. The restoration was particularly difficult due to the state it was in but our craftsman’s determination to bring this Machiya back to its formal glory paid off for Reikaku Yasaka.
