The location was amazing, with a secret tunnel through to the beach areas. The view and ocean noise from the porch was great and the house was well stocked with everything we needed. The train noise is definitely something to consider but it was really only annoying when very early morning freight trains came through.

I had an excellent stay and the hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The location is very close to the beach if you’re looking to relax near the ocean. I miss it already!

We stayed in Jeff's home for the week of Thanksgiving with our family of five. The house worked great for us. The deck and firepit are the highlight (one of the best firepits we've experienced!) along with the fact that the house is right across the street from the incredible Del Mar beach with its surfers! The house feels a bit lived in (kitchen pantry has items for example), but that was no issue for us. Also, the train runs right behind the house (you can both hear and actually feel it go by) and it runs both during the day and overnight. I was worried about it when we arrived, but we all slept just fine. It's just part of the Del Mar experience. We did have some maintanence issues while we were there (washing machine needed to be replaced and a clogged toilet). Jeff responded immediately and ensured the problems were addressed quickly. We had a great week and would rent the house again!
