Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Aberdeenshire

Magical, relaxing, calming, surrounded by beauty and nature. We cannot recommend Miep and Derrywood highly enough. Our only regret is we didn’t stay for longer, but hope to be back asap. 5/5 isn’t enough, as this home and host (Miep) well exceeded all our expectations. Thank you for the most blissful and memorable stay!!!

Super cozy cottage by the sea in traditional fishing village. The cottage is very well equipped, clean and nicely decorated. Nice restaurant nearby. Diane was very helpful and considerate. I would come back again!

Lovely find. The Smoke House is like stepping into a warm hug. We all loved the quirkiness of it. The fabulous social spaces. Really enjoyed our stay. So generously stocked with essentials.

Our third visit and it won’t be our last. We love the location and the cottage is so cosy. It’s quickly become our favourite getaway and this was a January holiday rather than a summer one and it’s just as magical!

We had a lovely stay at Jacqui and Jo's place and were made to feel very welcome. There was a super little welcome pack of essentials which were great and Jacquis soaps were divine and a lovely treat. The cottage was clean and tidy with all that you could need inside and outside to enjoy your stay and the views from the windows stunning and ever changing. We would love to visit again in the future.

It’s no wonder that this cottage is a guest favourite - we absolutely loved it! We were blessed with a few days of glorious weather so we were able to make good use of the rooftop terrace but we decided that even in less good weather the ever changing view from the sun lounge would have kept us happy for hours. The cottage was extremely well equipped and comfortable throughout with an exceptionally detailed information folder. We’d love to return.

We used Mill Cottage as a base for attending a wedding in a nearby town. The cottage was lovely and quiet with everything you would need for a short or a long stay. Follow the directions given by Sonia on the checking in guide as the cottage is only a short distance from the entrance to the Dalvey Estate,(don’t rely on sat nav /postcodes).

Our stay at Nethy Bridge was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The host was incredibly welcoming and responsive, providing helpful tips about the area and making sure we felt right at home. The location was ideal—peaceful yet close to restaurants, and shops. Every little detail was thoughtfully arranged. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would definitely love to return!

We had a great time. Simon and his wife are very welcoming, kind and available hosts. The apartment matches the descriptions given, it is tastefully decorated, it is very clean and functional. Thank you very much!

Had a lovely stay in flat. Great location very central but quiet. Clean and spacious. Was visiting my daughter at university and would use again when visiting.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Iona's apartment. Very spacious and had everything we needed. Less than 10 minute drive to Aviemore and on the doorstep of the Cairngorms where we spent most of our time!

We really enjoyed The Burnside Apartment. It was modern, clean and very cosy with the log burner. It served as a good base for sightseeing in the area. We had absolutely everything we needed including farm fresh eggs supplied by the Hosts. There was a good supply of kitchen and bathroom essentials to see us through our stay. The Hosts were very attentive and responsive to any needs. I would highly recommend staying at this apartment.

We booked to stay at short notice & Basia accepted the request very quickly. She was very communicative and friendly. When we enquired about extending the stay, she blocked off the dates until we confirmed which was very much appreciated. When the downstairs neighbour queried a leak, Lee came to check the issue at a convenient time & was very friendly. He was able to advise us on some parking in the area. There is parking available on the street & you can usually find a space if you are not too late in the evening but it was good to be recommended some other nearby options. We felt totally at ease in the accommodation. The location is extremely central yet quiet. It was easy to hear neighbours using the stairwell but apart from that, we were not disturbed. The flat is compact with everything you could need. It is nicely decorated and was very clean. Instructions were clear for check in / check out. We would definitely stay again & would recommend to anyone! Thanks Basia & Lee!

Our second time here and another great stay. The place is spacious and well-equipped and easily walkable to local shops, restaurants and pubs; Carron To Mumbai is a great restaurant and only a couple of minutes walk away.

Our stay was great. Area was quiet and within walking distance to groceries and restaurants. Nice central location and lovely place.

This is one of the best places I’ve stayed in Scotland. The apartment is absolutely beautiful. Internet was brilliant. Kitchen was lovely. bathrooms perfect. Beds really comfortable we will definitely stay again and definitely would recommend if you’re staying in the area

We visited for my partners 30th with ages ranging from 5yrs - 80yrs and what a weekend we had. The house had everything we needed and more. The games room and hot tub was a favourite for us all with many hours spent in both. Colin was a fantastic host, great communication and nothing was too much. We realised there were no darts for the dart board and Colin went out the same day to get us some. Cannot recommend this place enough or Colin for his hosting. Thank you again for a lovely stay - we are already talking about when to rebook for our next occasion.

What an amazing house and location. We have had a magical Christmas with everything we needed; walks, tennis, piano. The layout of the house and expansive living space suited us very well. The dog was as thrilled as her humans. The kitchen/dining room/glassware/crockery/cutlery are genuinely set up for a huge number which makes catering so much easier. As long as you don’t mind a short walk, Banchory is accessible by foot- you need a head torch in Winter! Definitely on the repeat list!
