Waterfront holiday rentals in Achill Island

We stayed in 6 other places around Ireland before arriving in Newport. Mary and Phil’s place felt so comfortable right away! Lots of space, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, great bathroom. Nice quiet view of the river with a balcony. Easy parking and walkable to town. Kelly’s Kitchen was great for breakfast, and the Gráinne Uaile bar had awesome trad music! Mary and Phil were full of ideas for where to go for music and what to do on rainy days. So appreciated!

We had a fantastic 2 night stay in Isobel’s 2 bedroom apartment (1 double with ensuite & 1 twin with a full bathroom next to it). The apartment was spotless and we appreciated the little extras which were left by Isobel including bread milk & chocolate bars. Isobel’s welcome on arrival and her recommendations for food locations were very good and she also explained the lovely short-cut to town through Westport House which was very helpful. Thanks very much Isobel, we had a very memorable time in Westport and it’s also well located to visit other lovely places including Mulranny & Achill so we hope to go back to stay there again soon.

Margaret was very welcoming and easy to communicate with. Fresh eggs, teabags and condiments were a nice touch. The location was few minutes cycle from beaches and fishing, it was a relaxing chilled out stay and we loved when Toby the dog visited. Beautiful views of the islands from the window. Thanks

The place was absolutely beautiful, although it is a shared property, it felt extremely private and we never even ran into the other residents. Elaine/Kenneth are extremely thoughtful; they had the house so clean and tidy and even put a Happy Birthday cake in the fridge for us before our arrival as we had specified it was a Birthday trip away. Achill is an absolutely beautiful place and is only 15 minutes away from the property by car (the furthest part of the island being approx. 50 minutes away). Thank you so much for our stay and the many memories from such a beautiful place in the world. We hope to be back in coming years.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay here, the communication with Ciaran and Rachel was great, lots of good recommendations. We were in Westport to climb Croagh Patrick, easily accessible from this property and a great base for exploring around Westport. The location is excellent, easily walkable into the centre of Westport and a lovely walk through the grounds of Westport House as well. A well equipped kitchen and we really loved the turntable and selection a vinyl, if you are staying here and can bring some of your own vinyl with you do it.

Carmel war super freundlich, wir wurden mit einer Flasche Wein empfangen zur Begrüßung, Tee,Kaffe,Nudeln alles vorhanden. Küche perfekte Ausstattung, gemütliche Wohnung mit Möglichkeiten zum Feuer machen. Total ruhige Lage. Wir konnten draußen sitzen. Gute Ausgangslage um den wunderschönen Flecken der Erde zu erkunden. Alle Menschen waren super freundlich . Gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und täglich fangfrischen Fisch zu kaufen. Wir hoffen nochmals wiederkommen zu dürfen. Nochmals ein Dankeschön an Carmel !

A Truly Exceptional Stay in Murrisk I can’t recommend this property highly enough! From the moment we arrived, it felt like a true home away from home. The host, Lorraine, was incredibly welcoming and thoughtful, going above and beyond to make our stay special. The house itself is beautifully presented, with luxurious bedding and towels, underfloor heating, squeaky clean and everything just right. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a delightful welcome package that included homemade scones and jam, a bottle of wine, water, and even milk—which I had forgotten to pick up at the shop. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare and so appreciated...as we're the sticks for climbing the reek! The location is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of Clew Bay. It’s peaceful, serene, and only a short distance from Westport. I’ve stayed in many Airbnbs over the years, but this one truly stands out for its warmth and exceptional hospitality of Lorraine. We loved our stay and will be back!

I've stayed in over 100 Airbnbs and this is by far the best. 14 of us , a mixture of adults and children stayed here over Easter. everything was amazing. once you walk in the view us breath taking. The home has evey amenity you could think of. large open space kitchen with high end everything. the underground heating is a great a touch and the house is always warm. this place is made for kids. they have a toy room which kept all of the kids entertained all weekend. perfect for a family get away. room were all clean great big size and extremely comfortable beds. most of all the hosting was the best I've received. the owners could not do anymore for us. even allowed us to stay an extra night for free as they had no booking the next day. lovely people. I really can't recommend this home enough. I for one will be a frequent visitor and I really look forward to staying again. thanks for the fantastic stay

We had a lovely stay beautiful setting by the river .The house was warm and cosy on arrival . Hugh was there to meet us with instructions on heating and Anne had left us beautiful homemade brown bread which went down very well with a cuppa after our long journey . It’s only a couple of minutes walking distance from the picturesque Cong village

We loved our stay here. The photos don’t do justice to the location which overlooks a little sandy inlet to the front and cliffs to the side. It’s private and quiet and the house had everything we needed and more! Very responsive hosts (thank you Anne) and lovely little touches like fresh milk and treats, throw blankets and lots of information on the locality. Kitchen was the best stocked kitchen of any self catering accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. The hosts have thought of everything. Beds were comfy and the house was cosy and warm. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans le logement de Walter. Que dire de la vue incroyable offerte depuis la maison ! C'est magnifique, avec le soleil et la pluie. Si vous cherchez le calme et la tranquillité en famille ou entre amis: ce logement est parfait. Le logement est confortable, bien équipé. Le feu de cheminée est un vrai plus ! La maison est située à 10mn de Ballinrobe où on trouve des commerces et restaurants. Le village de Cong est à 15mn aussi. Des balades sympa aussi vers Caher Pier à pied. Nous avons pu louer un bateau au voisin Michael, très disponible et de bons conseils. Nous n'avons pas rencontré Walter mais la communication a été fluide et très réactive ! Bref nous conseillons

Lovely apartment in a great location fe Westport Quay, the town, Clew Bay and the surrounding areas. Christine (and Trish) were very friendly, helpful and communicative. Highly recommended.

House was in a very quiet and relaxed area with a big Centra shop next door. If you can't get parking at the front of house, there is a big car park next door free. House has lovely clean furniture, kitchen and a big TV to relax in. Bathroom and bedroom was very tidy and the bed was comfortable. House is less than 15 mins drive to Croah Patrick and 20/25 to Mayo's Gaa pitch. It is a short walk into town also where there is pubs and restaurants. Kate was a great host, good help and communication, will definitely stay here again and would recommend for anyone

Eileen sent a message before arrival with very clear instructions, check in very straightforward. There was tea coffee milk & biscuits on arrival. There were 4 good size bedrooms, the master bedroom is amazing. There are a lot of stairs leading up to apartment so not suitable for someone with mobility issues The lighthouse is within walking distance of local bars, restaurants, takeaways & beach. The view is absolutely stunning & if you are lucky you’ll get a fabulous sunset. We will definitely return to this amazing property again

we had a very comfortable stay. apartment is well insulated, we did not need heating at all, which was very important as my parents are from the tropics. It is in a great location, the main town is walking distance. A close drive to the Croagh Patrick, easy to see from the property whether fog is covering the mountain peak which helped us plan our travels.

Amazing property, every penny worth spending. The location is the biggest attraction, right in front of the Kylemore lake. The place was very clean and the home is very cozy.

We have just had the most beautiful stay at Curlew Beag. The perfect base to explore beautiful Connemara. The studio was idyllic. Clean, cosy with everything we needed. Sean and Ros were fantastic hosts and gave great recommendations for food. We swam at the beautiful Renvyl beach, 4 minutes drive away. We were so lucky with the weather and explored Inisbofin, Diamond hill and Omey Island. We had the pleasure of playing with their gorgeous dog when we came back from our days out. We caught beautiful sunsets from the elevated setting of the studio. We loved all the personal touches and couldn't believe the value for money. One of our best Airbnb experiences to date. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We had a fantastic stay! The place was spotless, great size and had everything you could need. Location was peaceful with great views along the river. It was the perfect spot to use as a base to explore Mayo and also to relax and unwind with a few pubs nearby serving good food. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway
