Enjoy and relax in the Frisian countryside? This is possible with us in De Oude Smederij, which was formerly a forge but has been completely renovated into a comfortable vacation home. The Oude Smederij is located in an agricultural area on the outskirts of the village of Arum (on the Elfsteden route) and is centrally located between Harlingen (on the Wadden Sea with ferry services to Vlieland and Terschelling), Franeker (Planetarium and Frisian Museum), Bolsward (Broerekerk) and Makkum, located on the IJsselmeer with boulevard and beach.

Ideal for a holiday or home office use. Entrance, bathroom and toilet on the ground floor. Close to supermarket, the city centre, Harlingen beach and Vlieland & Terschelling ferry terminal. There is paid parking available in the street or at Spoorstraat parking (150 m). Indoor parking for bicycles available upon request.

The front house of the farm has been converted into a spacious guest house overlooking the garden and meadows. We have an organic dairy farm and work with nature as much as possible. "De Mooie Liefde" Tiny house in Friesland.

Our "Beautiful Love" used to be the horse stable belonging to the centuries-old farm in which we live. In 2020, we transformed it together with a lot of love and passion into a tiny house with an old lived-in look. The green staircase leads upstairs to the beautiful loft with a 180x200 bed, with a double mattress and a double sheep wool duvet. Under the loft, you will find the beautiful bathroom and kitchen. Suitable for 4 people, the houseboat offers all comforts, including a cozy living room, well-equipped kitchenette, 2 bedrooms, and a bathroom. The ideal base for a visit to the Wadden Islands and Frisian lakes.

Our rural farmhouse is located within walking distance of Bolsward town centre, on the Workumertrekvaart, the original Frisian Eleven Cities Route. In this rural, water-rich area, we offer you a spacious room equipped with a large double bed (2 × 0.90 m), a TV/sitting area, and a brand-new bathroom with a Jacuzzi. Additional sleeping accommodation is possible. We created this new space in our former cowshed, which adjoins our private residence.
