Medieval Fort, Sud Ardèche stunning loft with pool

Formally a fortified castle “Fort de La Bastide “ was constructed on the site of a Roman military station. The earliest historical mention is 1417 and it's long history includes an invasion in 1584 by Protestants during the period of the Huguenot wars. The fort has maintained many original features including the old stone staircase at the front door leading up to a 4 bedroomed loft apartment . There is full access to the large garden including an 10mx4m in-ground heated swimming pool .

You'll have your own garden entrance, comfortable bed (choose king or twins), double sinks, shower and tub, indoor & outdoor seating, a hot Senseo drink station with mini-fridge, central heating, and ample parking including a covered area for bikes/motorcycles. Non-smokers only and no pets, please.

House in basaltic stones typical of the region, completely renovated, located in the heart of the medieval hamlet of La Roche. From this comfortably equipped pied-à-terre, you can visit many character villages such as Alba la Romaine and take the winding roads of this "Ardèche à l'huile" which will take you from the natural parks to the cave of the Pont d'Arc, passing through our hilltop villages.
