I needed a quiet location where I could have some assistance when needed and to be able to come and go when I needed to. There was always someone there to help if I needed it and my daughter and I felt we could relax when we needed to do that too.

‘What Knot’ is a delightful and charming place to stay. Heather has done a really great job of turning this old building into a sweet place to spend time. It has everything you need, and Heather left basic supplies for our arrival. The cottage garden is beautiful and we enjoyed time at the table and chairs out front having breakfast in the sun. Heather made check in so easy with excellent instructions. ‘What Knot’ is a stroll from the heart of Alfriston and all it offers. The shower is compact and I did have to kneel/ use the little chair to fit in but this is part of the charm of the building.

Tom and Kirsty are great hosts. Very responsive and provides clear and concise information about check in / out and their accommodation. The private annexe is located next to the house, which is set in a beautiful, peaceful location. It’s a short drive to Eastbourne and very close to the South Downs National Park. The bed was super comfortable with crisp linen and the shower was lovely and hot. We would definitely return if we’re in that area again.
