The apartment itself is in the basement of an old Stickerhaus, that is an embroiderer house where once the famous embroidery of the region have been manufactured. We guarantee leisurely days in an unconventional place.

The Birkenhof is located in a quiet secluded location in the Appenzellerland near Herisau. Surrounded by meadows and forests, the property borders directly on hiking trails. Ideal for walking, hiking, biking or swimming. The former farm offers a magnificent, unobstructed view of the Alpstein and invites you to switch off. Herisau, Appenzell and St. Gallen are within easy reach. Distances: Zurich Airport about 40 min. OLMA St. Gallen about 15 min. Lake Constance approx. 25 minutes Schwägalp & Säntis about 30 min.

The 70 m2 apartment has been completely renovated and offers two bedrooms with double beds. There is also an additional sofa bed in the living room. Wi-Fi, TV and a fully equipped kitchen with crockery, oven, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine and kettle are available. There is a bakery with a café and various shops in the immediate vicinity.

The approximately 400-year-old farmhouse, which is located at almost 700 meters above sea level, was partially renovated in 2019. The rustic base was skillfully combined with modern elements. The house is ideally furnished for family vacations of up to 6 people. Of course, groups, couples and individuals are also very welcome. The house impresses with a spacious swing which is kept very close to nature. For children, there are various play options in and around the house.

Holiday cottage on the sunny slope with beautiful views. After a short but somewhat steep walk to the bungalow, you can enjoy the view of the Alpstein with our local mountain, the Säntis, on a cozy terrace. There are many walking and hiking opportunities directly from the house. Please note: From the parking lot, it is about 100 m on foot relatively steep up the hill to the beautifully located bungalow on the edge of the forest.
