Holiday rentals in Arcas

We enjoyed our visit with our family over New Year for three nights. Luis was a very helpful host and always responded quickly to any questions. We appreciated the freshly baked cake on arrival and on the second morning some treats from the bakery. We particularly enjoyed seeing the fireworks from the exclusive resort of the opposite side of the river for New Year. We popped open a bottle of bubbles to share on the rooftop terrace with a fabulous view at midnight. Great atmosphere. Would be fun to return during the summer months to enjoy the lovely pool.

Where to begin. We chose Jesse’s place to begin our family trip to Portugal and it set the tone in all the right ways. From the recommendations to take a tour with Nuno & Grapeland to dinner cooked by the neighbors, we didn’t want to leave. Jesse & his neighbors even helped us out of a ‘rite of passage’ moment when we got our car a bit stuck on a vineyard road during the nationwide power outage. We truly hope to return one day and the memories of this trip will last us a lifetime. The photos will never do the place justice as it consistently took our breath away.

Such a wonderful place and wonderful hosts! It’s remote, too far normally to walk to town, but our hosts did a great job of supplying us with breakfast food and wine, so we were never without the important things. Phillipa and Paul were absolutely lovely to work with and their property is unbelievable! We felt like we owned a Quinta for a few nights! we got to explore the property, visit with Paul and one of their sons, and savor the beauty of the Douro. They were proactive with communication and sourced a number of wonderful adventures, activities and meals. Without their guidance our trip would have been less fun!

A great house to be very quiet 8 people. It is very equipped and has no lack of a detail to be quiet. Quiet area 5m from freeway. We have been in winter but this house in summer will be worthy to enjoy it to the fullest. Communication with Sonia has always been very quick and attentive to everything we needed.

The house is very pleasant, taking into account the price paid on it. It has all the necessary utensils in the kitchen, bathroom , which I give a lot of value.

We received a warm welcome. The apartment was very clean and the living area was stylishly decorated. The view over the lake was stunning, as was the surrounding countryside. As road cyclists, we really loved the area. The pool was great for post-ride sunny ice baths (in September!). 😉
