The 'stork village' of Wahrenberg is situated right on the Elbe and offers an ideal location for enjoying nature and activities. There is no through traffic in Wahrenberg. In the garden, you can relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the surroundings. Cycling and canoeing are possible right on site or nearby, as well as swimming opportunities on the Elbe or at lakes. For day trips, options include the thermal baths in Bad Wilsnack, the beautiful Waldbad swimming pool, and the medieval towns in the surrounding area.

Birken Cottage – Holidays at the Herbsthausen Sawmill

Our three one-room apartments — Ahorn, Linde, and Birke — combine the historic charm of Herbsthausen with contemporary design. Each apartment is completely unique and has been modernized by us. They offer space for two to three people each. The apartments are part of “Herbsthausen”, an cultural project in the town of Gartow. We are renovating a historic sawmill and transforming it into a future-oriented place for art, industrial heritage, living, working, international exchange, and relaxation.

Unfortunately, our farm is not suitable for excessive parties. Our house was built around 1850. The residential house and barn of the listed three-sided farmstead are built with an oak timber frame. There are 10 wedding linden trees around the house. In November, when the lime trees have been pruned back, the house can be seen in all its splendour. From May onwards, it then slowly disappears behind the shade-providing foliage, and so remains wonderfully cool throughout the summer... 

Modern apartment to feel good in Salzwedel

Our 35 sqm apartment was modernized and designed in 2019. It looks bright and friendly as a result. The furnishings are functional, but also comfortable. You can reach the apartment behind the house via a staircase. The entrance is separate and is located on the upper floor of our single-family house built in 2010. The house is situated in beautiful green surroundings not far from the Dumme river, yet you can walk to the idyllic old town of Salzwedel in just a few minutes.

In nur zwei Gehminuten seid ihr am schönen Elbstrand oder dem Marktplatz mit kleinen Cafés und Stöbergeschäften. Our new, charming and lovingly furnished apartment is located in a former stable building of the old farm, just 700 m from the Nemitz Heath. The 60 sqm are divided into a kitchen, hallway, bathroom, a bedroom/living room and a beautiful wooden terrace - ideal for couples or solo travelers, suitable for a maximum of 3 people. Wallbox and bicycle shed are provided. On request, 1–2 horses can be accommodated (€20/night) – ideal for unforgettable star rides in great nature.

The maisonette extends over two floors and offers a peaceful location and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Old walls, exposed wooden beams, brick and clay plaster create a unique atmosphere and combine rustic charm with modern comforts such as underfloor heating and fibre-optic internet.
