Afterwards: Finnish sauna, garden, starry sky. Rent bikes and canoes, enjoy the Elbe, and switch off in the UNESCO biosphere reserve. Halfway between Hamburg and Berlin. Gym free of charge for stays of 3 nights or more!

Birken Cottage – Holidays at the Herbsthausen Sawmill

Our three one-room apartments — Ahorn, Linde, and Birke — combine the historic charm of Herbsthausen with contemporary design. Each apartment is completely unique and has been modernized by us. They offer space for two to three people each. The apartments are part of “Herbsthausen”, an cultural project in the town of Gartow. We are renovating a historic sawmill and transforming it into a future-oriented place for art, industrial heritage, living, working, international exchange, and relaxation.

Vacation home

Welcome to our stylish holiday apartment – ideal for families, groups and friends. Completed in 2022, the accommodation offers modern living comfort over approx. 170 m². You can expect a spacious, open-plan living and dining area with a fully equipped kitchen, four separate bedrooms, two bathrooms and a sofa bed for two more guests. Space for up to 10 people. The highlight is the bright living area with high ceilings, open timber-framed walls and glazed Tennentor overlooking the village square.

Time out in the forest with an oven and sauna!

In the middle of the forest, on a clearing, 3 km from the beautiful town of Gartow, lies our special retreat. If you are looking for peace and quiet in nature and value simplicity and goodness, this is the place. The old half-timbered building, a former stable, was renovated with high quality and sustainably with natural materials. Clay plaster on the walls and the wood-burning stove guarantee an excellent indoor climate, and the walk to the wood-fired sauna promises absolute relaxation!

Kulturhaus Wahrenberg

Unfortunately, our farm is not suitable for excessive parties. Our house was built around 1850. The residential house and barn of the listed three-sided farmstead are built with an oak timber frame. There are 10 wedding linden trees around the house. In November, when the lime trees have been pruned back, the house can be seen in all its splendour. From May onwards, it then slowly disappears behind the shade-providing foliage, and so remains wonderfully cool throughout the summer... 

Natur Nest Nemitz – Living in a former stable

Our new, charming and lovingly furnished apartment is located in a former stable building of the old farm, just 700 m from the Nemitz Heath. The 60 sqm are divided into a kitchen, hallway, bathroom, a bedroom/living room and a beautiful wooden terrace - ideal for couples or solo travelers, suitable for a maximum of 3 people. Wallbox and bicycle shed are provided. On request, 1–2 horses can be accommodated (€20/night) – ideal for unforgettable star rides in great nature.

Duplex apartment in the countryside

Our cosy holiday apartment in the small village of Bülitz in the Altmark region offers approximately 70 m² of space for 2–4 people. The maisonette extends over two floors and offers a peaceful location and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Old walls, exposed wooden beams, brick and clay plaster create a unique atmosphere and combine rustic charm with modern comforts such as underfloor heating and fibre-optic internet. A place to breathe and feel good.

Wendland with dog up to 8 people, winter sauna!

Dannenberg in the beautiful Wendland with beautiful cycling trails, forests and the nearby Elbe. Great outdoor pool nearby, good nearby shopping, sauna can be booked from September to the end of April. (€10 hour) On weekends only book both nights, no one-night booking. It's an apartment, Airbnb presents it as a tree house! Large staircase to the top, large apartment, large balcony - no shared use. For check-in, the door is open from 3 pm, the key is inside.

Holiday apartment in an old half-timbered house behind the dyke

The stork village of Wahrenberg is just off the Elbe and offers an ideal location to enjoy nature and activities. Wahrenberg does not have through traffic. In the garden you can relax and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. Cycling and canoeing are possible directly on site or nearby, as well as swimming on the Elbe or at lakes. For excursions, the spa in Bad Wilsnack, the beautiful forest resort of Seehausen. A few bicycles cost €5 pto day.

Relax on the small pony farm

Enjoy a great time on our private farm with our horses/ponies. Depending on the number of guests, you will have two or three bedrooms, a large living room with a dining table, a small but well-equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with a bathtub. From the terrace you have a beautiful view over the horse pasture and enjoy the sunset. I'm happy to give you tips on things to do in our beautiful Wendland. I look forward to meeting you!

Living in an old school

There is no central heating. There is a hot air oven, which is similar to a tiled stove, but quickly gives plump warmth. It is heated on arrival and the heat usually lasts until the next morning. It's easy to cheer! Relax, also enjoy silence in a stylish guest apartment, feel comfortable no matter the weather. Quiet in the countryside, there is no distraction, no shops, no cafe, nothing.
