We had a wonderful stay at Liz's cottage and the photos don't do it justice. The downstairs rooms are really spacious and there is everything you need to cook if you wish to. It was a very comfortable stay. The garden is beautiful with seating on two areas looking onto a lovely view. The location is great for dog walking - we found some footpaths in both directions from the cottage including a walk into castle douglas. Highly recommend Liz's place.

Our stay was the best of our whole trip. Beautiful country setting easy to get to. The space is immaculate with nicely appointed big light-filled rooms. The bathroom is great (especially the shower). Trish was stealthily attentive and so engaging and pleasant when we first checked in. We would definitely book again and spend more time in the area. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.

Little Alba gave us a week of peace and relaxation on the beautiful Galloway coast. Suzanne is an experienced and friendly host who has thought of every detail. The kitchen is so well equipped that we cooked and ate there almost every night, enjoying the view of the lawns and trees. We were blessed with glorious weather in May and marvellous displays of bluebells and wild garlic. A short walk through the woods takes you to Gatehouse, a charming little town with good amenities. There are fantastic walks from the door, to the stunning bay at Sandgreen, up to Trusty’s Hill or to the magical old Carstrammon Woods where deer and cuckoos were spotted. A short drive takes you to Wigtown, Scotland’s national book town, or to the Galloway Forest Park. Little Alba is in the most peaceful location and we loved sitting on the lawn watching the birds and slept really well in the comfortable king size bed after a long walk. We left there rested and recharged and vowed to return!

Even better than expected! We were delayed because of travel challenges and Alison was extremely helpful, even offering to help us when our rental car had a flat tire. The Airbnb was beautiful and the location was exactly what we hoped for: peaceful, quiet, private and surrounded by rolling hills and stunning countryside. We felt safe and welcome by Alison and her family. I’ve stayed in more than 60 Airbnbs around the world and this was one of the best experiences. I loved the cleanliness and solitude, perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing retreat. I would absolutely stay at Alison’s property again.
