Holiday rentals in Big Slide Mountain

Don’s beautiful VanHoevenberg Ridge has become our home base in the ADK, and a “home away from home” where we return several times a year to relax and enjoy the beauty of the mountains and lakes in all seasons. This is by far the best place we have stayed since we have been coming to the ADK for over 30 years. If you are lucky enough to stay here, you’ll be back! Don’s place has everything you’ll need, and is near to everywhere you’ll want to go. The views of the High Peaks are stellar, and the hot tub is relaxing after an active day outdoors. Don is a welcoming host who truly cares that his guests have the best experience, whether avid hikers or simply wanderers seeking serenity and renewal in the woods and waters near his home. He respects your privacy, but is happy to provide his knowledge of the area to find the best hike or paddle for you. This place is our North Star in the ADK: bright, constant, and a place we’ll always look to return to. We recommend it highly to everyone!

We had a wonderful stay. We’re a group of 4 mostly retired couples. Linda’s place was perfect for our needs. We used 4 bedrooms each with its own bathroom, comfortable communal space, a dining room that accommodated all of us, and a great kitchen with lots of counter space, utensils, serving dishes, etc. The main bedroom upstairs also had an adjoining suite perfect for families with young children. Linda’s instructions were clear and she was very responsive to all messages. Linda had towels for the hot tub which we loved using after a day of outdoor activity. We highly recommend Linda’s place and look forward to returning next year.

Beautiful home that was very comfortable and spacious for our large group. The outdoor spaces were great. The hosts were very responsive as we had questions come up both before and during our trip. Would definitely book again!

beautiful place right on the river! Lake Champlain and the ferry are a 5-10 minute drive, and you are able to bring your pup with!

Linda's place was amazing with great amenities and is good for large groups. We had an amazing time and felt right at home in this house. There were grocery stores with plenty of things and the town was easily walkable from the Airbnb. Highly recommend!

The Chalet was just perfect. Listing perfectly described what you were getting with this little piece of paradise! The Sauna was easily workable. The hot tub was clean and ready to go. The whole house was immaculate and roomy yet cozy. Perfect distance to the MANY MANY WATERFALLS the boyfriend and I were chasing. Skiing at Whiteface will be happening in the future, and hopefully using Judi's gorgeous Chalet to ease my weary bones once again in the future. Absolutely beautiful home! The decor was stunning, and every detail was thoughtfully designed. The space was super clean, cozy, and felt like a perfect retreat. Mary was great, and everything went smoothly. Would highly recommend.

A perfect spot for us and our small pooch. The only challenge was that I had to carry our small dog upstairs, because she couldn’t do the stairs. Wonderful,private location, and Barb dealt with an internet issue very promptly, but also respected our privacy.

This was our second year staying at Carlos’ place for our family ski vacation. It’s so cozy and has plenty of room for my sons’ growing families. Everything is labeled with easy instructions…no need to flip through a manual. The kitchen is a dream and is stocked with every kind of pot, pan, baking dish, utensil or appliance you would need. Carlos was super helpful and accommodating! We’re planning on including Carlos’ place as part of our annual family tradition!
