Sæból is a historic farm in one of the most remote parts of Iceland. Visitors will find a truly authentic experience of life in the Westfjords, past and present. It provides amazing access to the mountains and the sea, and the opportunity to enjoy the remoteness and quiet that make the Westfjords so special. In Sæból lives a friendly sheep farmer known as Bettý (my mother) and she is the last remaining resident of Ingjaldssandur. She also makes beautiful handcrafts that she sells at her house.

Built in 2016, this home comfortably accommodates 2 guests but can sleep 4 if needed. Inside, discover a snug retreat featuring all the comforts of a home or step outside and breathe in the crisp country air as you sip your coffee on the patio.

We own a cafe (Valeria) & invite you for 2 cups of coffee each day. The studio is 30 sqm. It has bathroom with a shower. The studio DOES NOT have a kitchen but some items to help you to make a simple meal (microwave, kettle, egg boiler, bowls, cutlery, fridge.) There are two single beds and the studio is equipped with everything you need for a overnight stay, such as hairdryer, towels, tea. We speak English & Spanish. The house is between the towns Stykkishólmur (20 km) and Grundarfjörður (20 km), where you can find all facilities you need. The house has superb view over mountains, sea and lava fields. This is a perfect location to discover Snæfellsnes peninsula. From here you can visit the Shark Museum in Bjarnarhöfn, go swimming in Stykkishólmur, go sailing around Breiðarfjörður or visit the national park.

Setberg is a farm and it is 7 km from Grundarfjörður. Grundarfjörður is conveniently located in the middle of Snæfellsnes and provides easy access to Stykkishólmur, Snæfellsbær and the Snæfellsnes National Park. Kirkjufell mountain is the landmark of Grundarfjörður. This charming cottage has a great view across the sea of Kirkjufell mountain.

At the heart of the Westfjords

Our place is perfect for those that want to explore the Westfjords, with the three top destinations of the area within an hours drive. It is on the ground floor of our house, we live upstairs and are happy to provide information our guests might need for their traveling. The apartment is recently renovated and has great view over the fjord.
