Cabin holiday rentals in Birch Lake

Wonderful weekend with the kids and the dog. Loved the hot tub and the game room. Lovely, cozy place to enjoy as a family.

We had a wonderful time swimming, fishing off the dock (caught a nice sized large mouth bass & panfish) and boating. We enjoyed the paddle board, kayak and screened in porch. We used the fire pit one night before the mosquitoes came out. We didn’t use the hot tub. We rented a pontoon from Brett at Island View Resort. He also sold bait, gas and a map of the lake with tips for fishing the lake. We caught crappies, bass, panfish and northern. The bunkhouse was prefect for our two boys. Our daughter enjoyed the loft room. It was nice that there were 2 fans. The kitchen was well equipped and we liked having a large electric skillet. Didn’t use the washing machine except for washing the towels before we checked out. The beds were comfortable. We also liked the large dining room table -used it to play games in the evening. We’d definitely recommend getting peanut butter twists from Pattens restaurant in Orr. It was a very relaxing vacation. We’d definitely rent it again.

Beautiful space, everything was clean and worked great. Hot tub and sauna are great amenities. Very private. Aaron was responsive and is a great host!

This Airbnb was a perfect place for a larger group due to the spacious and well planned space. Everything was high quality and felt built to last, which seems rarer and rarer nowadays. We used the pool/hot tub and pickleball facilities. Pool+hot tub were a nice size and there was plenty of seating. We enjoyed the pickleball but the paddles did seem aged. It would be nice for the resort group to implement self check in for the ease of the guests but Crystal at the front desk was a friendly face.

The property is as in the photos, very spacious in the inside. Right on the water, only a minute or two from downtown Ely, but worlds away from the City. Nice setting, plenty of room for all in your group. Multiple levels, built to enjoy being on the lake, so many nice touches, and the kitchen is well stocked, with plenty of glasses/plates and everything required to feel at home. Plenty of towels! Hot tub is in a private setting! Second floor is reached by open stairway, includes an open area overlooking first floor, that includes conversation area with futon, and large bedroom with great view of sunrise and attached bathroom with shower and large jetted tub. We were just two, and felt comfortably together, larger groups will not feel crowded, and two cars can park in the garage, and they provide two remote garage door openers, so you do not have to get out of your car to open or close the garage door. Truly is like having your own place in the woods, if you were a millionaire!

We stayed at the cabin for three nights while birding at Sax-Zim bog. It was really comfortable and plenty of space for the two of us and our dogs. We loved the bird feeders which attracted all kinds of winter birds, and the view from the patio is gorgeous! Only 20 minutes from the bog. Lots of space for the dogs to run around in the snow. Extra bathroom near the upstairs bed was very convenient. Kitchen was spacious and clean and the bed was really comfortable (and I’m picky about that!) Will definitely stay here again when visiting the bog! Recommend to anyone!

We stayed at Nord Hyyt for the first time this April and it did not disappoint. Chad and Jennifer were welcoming, knowledge, friendly and timely. Their rental was beautiful and uncomplicated with everything we needed for a wonderfully relaxing stay. The woodfired hot tub and sauna were an especially amazing addition to the relaxing location. We would love to stay again in a season that has more to offer and explore outside of the rental. But this trip was all about relaxing and catching up with family and Nord Hyyt was perfect.

Absolutely loved this place! The location felt very private and secluded being surrounded by all the trees. Right when you walk in you notice immediately how spotlessly clean everything is. Also, it is very well stocked with anything you need. Close to many beautiful hiking locations which was why we visited. The sauna was so relaxing. And the stars at night were unbelievable. Would have loved to stay a couple more days, but really appreciated having a couple more hours with a 12pm checkout. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with us. Absolutely would recommend and would stay again!

We loved staying here! Such a beautiful area and the host was so responsive and nice :) I would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy house that tons can sleep in!

The location and scenery are incredible, just like the cabin itself. From the start, we were blown away by the serenity and beauty of this home. With the beach adjacent to the property, it’s a perfect place to relax both outside and in. The interior is just as wonderful as the environment outside, which only makes the entirety of the location better. Sitting on the shoreline n the brisk wind to have a hot sauna waiting for you is about as good as it gets. The instructions for checkin and checkout were clear and easy to follow, along with the directions left throughout the cabin for the fireplaces and other amenities. It made the stay easy and worry free. It was a wonderful weekend at a wonderful location! Thank you for the much-needed getaway!

We loved staying at Samantha's property. Communication was great, the cabin was clean and super cozy and had everything that we needed. This is a little gem up north and we would love to stay here again. The lake is beautiful and the rental comes with kayaks and other water toys. We kayaked to the local restaurant which was easy to get to and a very pretty, short paddle away. We loved sitting by the fire and they had ample firewood provided. Can't say enough about the experience!

Hands down our favorite Airbnb stay EVER! Brien and Shelley were so kind and communicative! Their cabin was peaceful, cozy, clean, beautiful, and an incredible value for the cost. We could tell they put a lot of love and intention into their space! Far enough from people for privacy but close enough to town for convenience! We could hear the creek from the porch and loved walking the trails. The bed was very soft and the gas fireplace created the perfect ambiance. The almost full surround of windows was perfect to watch the sun set and the stars come out. We were very sad to leave and we will definitely be back!

The perfect balance of peace, tranquility, modern amenities and adventure. Kristin has invested so much of herself in this place, it feels like home. It is so much more than advertised - new king bed (sleeping on a cloud), renovated bathroom (rainfall shower and view feels like a shower in the forest), peaceful setting (quiet solitude with visits from red squirrels and a variety of birds, and the patter of rain on the roof...ahhhh). We ventured to Sand Bay, Frog Bay, Red Cliff, and Bayfield...many treks, beaches with snow, a bog, stop at the Copper Crow (a must visit). We couldn't have had a more wonderful mother/daughter adventure. Thank you Kristin (and Kaya) for kicking butt and being ready in time, it was truly seamless. Highly recommend and will be back.

We were very pleased with our stay. The cabin is adorable with plenty of space around it. After reading a few reviews about the train tracks being so close I was a little concerned about safety and noise. Once we arrived I noticed that safety was not an issue as a river (stream) is located between the property and the tracks. The train runs through frequently but it didn't have a negative impact on our stay and we live in the country with no trains. Randy was very pleasant to work with and I can't say enough good things about our stay. it was a perfect fit!

Private, quiet, relaxing— exactly what we wanted. So many stars!

From the time we pulled up till we walked out the door on the day of check-out we were blown away. The place is beautiful, Lisa seriously thought about everything! We all arrived after a very long drive and it was so inviting and warm walking in to see what we got to call home for our stay. If you get the opportunity to stay here you will not be disappointed. My husband and I felt like it was the perfect place for our family trip and wished we would have been able to stay longer! When we make it back to Cloquet again we will for sure be staying in this beautiful cabin home! Thanks for all the help and everything you allowed for our family to enjoy Lisa!

Our family REALLY enjoyed ourselves in Kami & Matthew's cabin! We had set our sights on a location that was a bit more remote, cozy but spacious enough for our family of 4, while tucked away in a winter wonderland and beautiful surroundings. We got all of these things in one (except for the snow part which was unfortunate, but hard to control)! The layout of the cabin was perfect and the location was really great, and we all loved just enjoying the place in a relaxed tempo. We would highly recommend this wonderful spot and would definitely not mind coming back when there's more snow :-)

We stayed at John's place in the winter, and it exceeded our expectations. The place was clean and well-stocked. Running the log stove and sauna were a must, as they were the only way to stay warm. We saw a wolf and many other wildlife during our stay. Snowshoeing on the nearby lakes were a highlight. The trails marked by Dave were easy to follow, along with the maps they provided. If you are looking for a peaceful trip surrounded by nature, you found the right place! Thanks to John and Dave for being so helpful and responsive.

Beautiful location, and amazing cabin. Everything is as described and host was very responsive. Definitely need 4WD in the winter, as stated.

The stay here at Blueberry Cottage was truly a beautiful place to have a little R&R. Take the a little trail straight to the sandy beach to see Siskiwit Bay. With this property being pet friendly right by the water was truly a win win scenario! Not to mention those gorgeous windows taking everything in. Lacey was a terrific host! Kept me informed when there was weather coming through and had back up plans in case we needed to pivot and choose a different property to stay. The consideration and open communication made me feel at ease and while I didn’t need any assistance knowing she was a message away was incredibly reassuring. 5 out of 5!

We only stayed one night but the place was very clean and exceeded expectations. We got a great night’s rest and would love to stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at The Hideaway! We drove up from Mississippi for a white Christmas and spent most of our time ice skating on the lake, reading, and playing board games. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed for a relaxing family vacation: books, games, puzzles, the lake, even extra dog bags for clean up. My oldest went ice fishing a few times. As an amateur baker, I loved that the kitchen had things like bread pans, a pastry blender, a dough scraper, etc. It made the Christmas and New Year’s baking of delicious breads and desserts much easier. Highly recommend and considering another stay this summer!
