This private traditional kominka guesthouse was lovingly renovated by the owner, JP, a DIY enthusiast, who envisioned his ideal way of life, transforming a 150-year-old traditional house. The stand-out feature of this inn is its one-of-a-kind ‘egg sauna’. This is a fully DIY sauna, developed entirely by JP from design to production, featuring a unique shape that allows heat to circulate naturally.Enjoy a sauna experience you can only have here, surrounded by the gentle warmth of a wood-burning stove. Inside, there is also an irori (traditional hearth) characteristic of a traditional kominka house. You can experience traditional Japanese living, whether it’s enjoying a hotpot around the irori (traditional hearth) or grilling skewers. *Please bring your own ingredients and cooking utensils, such as skewers. The inn is located in a quiet hamlet called Kobusa, nestled in the mountains of Mimasaka City, Okayama Prefecture. It is also very close to Teshima Yokoo House and is in the area where you can find small shops and eating places. OHANA is a private seaside cottage on Naoshima, known as a sacred place of contemporary art. There are two cottages, sea side and mountain side; Lani is the mountain-side cottage. Free parking is available on site. The cottage accommodates 6–8 guests and includes a kitchen and washing machine. It is a 3-minute walk to the Yellow Pumpkin and 2 minutes to the bus stop.
