Nice place to stay with plenty to see around! I worked remotely here and enjoyed the kitties daily visits on the back porch! In unit laundry was wonderful and having all the appliances I needed- kettle, microwave! Thanks for the great stay!

Great location that’s outside the hustle of downtown Reykjavik. Sweet neighborhood and extremely well-kept home with beautiful backyard. Highly recommend.

Great place with lovely views

Burma’s beautiful home is ideal for anyone who wants two bathrooms (hard to find in Iceland) and plenty of space. It’s in a quaint small town very close to the Golden Circle and not far from Selfoss, which has more substantial amenities. Easy drive to Gullfoss and Geysir, and a small grocery is within walking distance of the house. The views from the sunroom are beautiful. The kitchen is modern, functional, and spacious. The outdoor area, including the hot tub, is wonderful in the evening. The nearby restaurants, including those in Reykholt, are wonderful! We highly recommend this place for people who want extra space and don’t want to stay in the busy capital city. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

We really enjoyed Asa's place. It was very clean and had everything you would need: dishes, utensils, a book with detailed instructions on every major appliance in the house. Asa responded quickly to our queries and was very nice over messages, we did not see each other face to face. We would love to be back some day 🙂

Traveling with a group of nine family members, we needed a place that could accommodate a range of ages ( the youngest was 5 and oldest 73). Elin's place was absolutely perfect. Incredibly comfortable, clean, well designed and in a great location to explore the Golden Circle and beyond. She left us coffee ( and incredible find after a long journey), the perfect hot tub and a garage filled with fun activities for the kids, alongside a beautiful yard and back deck. There was nothing we lacked while staying at Elin's and returning to her her lovely home was a wonderful respite after busy days of adventure and exploring. We made dinner several times and she made check in and check out incredibly easy. I also really appreciated the list of suggestions and information she provided during check-in. I can't recommend this spot enough and would certainly stay again if I return to Iceland ( and I hope to!).

The host was very polite and responsive. The location was amazing. We found everything we expected and had a great time in the cottage.

We had an unforgettable stay at this Airbnb property in Vogar. The house was impeccably clean, spacious, and fully equipped with everything we needed, including a full kitchen, comfortable living areas fireplace, washer/dryer, and lovely deck overlooking the water. The location was stunning—remote yet offering breathtaking views of the sunset, black sand beach, mountains and we even saw the northern lights on three of the four nights we stayed. Ólafur the host was incredibly communicative and thoughtful. After long days of exploring Iceland’s natural beauty, relaxing in the hot tub was a perfect way to unwind. This was truly one of the best stays we’ve ever had, and we look forward to returning and recommending this property to friends. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, scenic, and comfortable Icelandic getaway that is centrally located. 15 minutes from the airport and Blue Lagoon, 35 minutes to Reykjavík, and easily accessible to the highway for road trips. Absolutely the best place we stayed in all of Iceland. A lovely, absolutely beautiful respite and location. We say the aurora both nights, enjoyed a dip in the cold spring, hiked to the top of the mountain behind the home, enjoyed the views to the ocean both from the warmth of the living room and the hot tub! The home is so well appointed, very comfortable beds, linens, sparkling clean. AS we'd already explored Snaefellsnes, Gudrun suggested we explore the area a bit east of Burðardular and it was awesome. My daughter and I enjoyed horseback riding at Sturlureykir Horses and my son and husband enjoyed the ice cave and snowmobiling on the glacier out of Husafell with Into the Glacer- the area is so geothermally active and I wish we'd had time to go to Krauma Hot Springs too! Don't miss Hraunfossar & Barnafoss! We would definitely come back to this area and try to stay longer at Háafel Lodge!

Our stay at Larus’ accommodation was magical. Such a beautiful and restful setting, we felt relaxed instantaneously. The space was spotless with everything considered. The hot tubs and sauna were wonderful luxuries with the verandas thoughtfully sheltered from the breeze and the kayak’s in the lake which our boys enjoyed. The communication from start to when we left was proactive and clear with Kamil kindly meeting us at the cottages to guide us to the house and show us around. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon.

A stay at this lovely place gives you a high-end experience, no doubt. The house is spacious, clean, well organized, has super tasteful interiors, and a hot tub as the cherry on top! I was simply left with a "wow" after check in and seeing all the small details Thorunn pays attention to. She had made sure that we would not lack a thing, and the instructions she provided us with answered litterally every questions we had during our stay. What a perfect host Thorunn is! Beautiful home! Spacious and clean, perfect for my group of 5. The plentiful decor was tasteful and living room is cozy with large couch. Location was quiet and private, conveniently near a Bonus, and close to major highways. The space is well stocked: Whether you need laundry related products, extra pasta sauce, quality coffee machine, etc you can find it. Would highly recommend for a cozy stay, truly like a home away from home.

A perfect place for our family of three. Removed enough from Reykavik but a great home base for all of our adventures in the area. The house and grounds are beautiful and relaxing. The host family is so nice and great for recommendations. Finding the house, parking, checking in/out was all very easy. Wish we could have stayed longer!

We traveled with an infant and since no one was using the place the day before, Hildur allowed us to come straight from our flight! It was so incredibly nice of them and my daughter appreciated the opportunity to catch up on some sleep. Overall, the place is beautiful, spacious, and had an incredible review. An incredible house in an incredible location, it was hard to leave. Tolli was incredibly responsive and helpful. Nothing was too much effort.

Jette’s house is ideally located to get into Reykjavík and to get out into the absolutely stunning countryside. Located just of the motorway But well soundproofed and superbly insulated you certainly won’t get cold. Jette stayed in contact just enough but felt approachable at the same time. Plenty of grocery shops around so you can cook in the well equipped kitchen. By car it takes about 5-10 mins to get into the old town. Have fun.

Rosa is an amazing host andvgave us a great introduction to the place and local area on arrival. Well situated location, far enough put of town that we could easily see the aurora on a clear night but handy for all the golden circle locations. Thoroughly recommend Icelandic cottages as a great place to getaway to.

We had a wonderful time at Himri! The place was huge and everyone had lots of fun with the gym and game room. The surroundings were peaceful and beautiful and it was a joy to wake up every morning and see that. The location was great close to the Golden circle and Reykjavík. The beds were super comfortable. The hot tub was relaxing after a day of sightseeing. We felt so lucky to be there!
