“Little Barn is a lovely place to stay and really great value for what it offers! The hosts were very welcoming, helpful, and kind. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the bathroom (plus a second extra toilet) was sparkling clean and the shower is very spacious! The entire space was very well heated even when we were visiting in winter. The location is lovely, with some views just as you walk out of the driveway. And it's in the middle of the Peak District so easy to explore anywhere from here. Just remember to bring bedsheets, duvet/sleeping bag, and towels! The bunks in the bedroom took me back to my school camp days, very quaint! The bedroom is spacious and can easily fit the luggage of six people (there are six beds total).”
Charming, cosy stone cottage on the outskirts of Wetton, adjacent to a pre 1700 farmhouse. Lovely views of surrounding countryside. Great base for exploring this beautiful part of the White Peak, very popular with walkers and cyclists. Ideal for couples or single guests. Has a galleried double bedroom with shower and toilet. Downstairs there is an open plan sitting/diner with kitchen area. Featuring beamed ceilings. Small south facing sitting out area and off road parking.
“John is an exceptional host, we had very warm welcome and John gave us great local tips which we used. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed including nice electric stove that kept us warm and cosy. The nature and all walks were on our door step - the beautiful Dove Valley and caves . We used the car only once to go to a near village pub, the Black Lion in Butterton , that had amazing food and has very friendly local atmosphere. The Royal Oak in Wetton was lovely and very friendly. Had breakfast in the Tea Room in the village - excellent! In all it was great stay!”
Kingfisher Cottage is attached to Bridge House, situated in the Peak District village of Bamford and benefits from a beautiful view of the River Derwent. The Cottage, which is within walking distance of Bamford train and bus station and local shops, has it's own garden and seating area on the bank of the river. The Cottage has private access and parking is available. Fly fishing is also available by arrangement with hosts.
“Kingfisher Cottage is a wonderful property located right next to the village of Bamford, located closely to the local train station and village shop. The property is beautifully maintained by the hosts, and creates a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere. Inside Kingfisher cottage are several amenities, such as both a bath and a shower, a stocked kitchen, and a washing machine/tumble dryer, as well as several touches by the hosts themselves. The property, while a bit smaller than the photos offer, is still plenty spacious for two people. The local knowledge of these hosts is handily dispensed through a wonderful information folder, which is available at the property. Using this, we were able to effectively plan our trip in the Peak District and fill it with wonderful activities. Overall, I could not recommend Kingfisher Cottage enough to individuals, couples, or small groups wishing to stay in the Peak District. A truly wonderful property with some fantastic hosts.”
