We can’t say enough about Otter Cottage. We stayed two weeks and it felt like home from the minute we arrived until the minute we left. Both Haley and Gary were great at communicating and offering helpful suggestions and recommendations for restaurants, places to see and local attractions. Because I had to work while we were there (remotely) I was concerned with the WiFi since I usually have multiple applications running and Teams Meetings/Calls. The WiFi was perfect and I didn’t have any issues at all the entire time we were there. All amenities are high spec, the couch and bed were SUPER comfortable and the back garden enclosed so our dog could run around contained. Haley and Gary even provided me with some potting soil for a near plant fatality I had! The local Old Oak pub is a five minute walk away and is a true gem with GREAT FOOD. The town itself is charming, with some of the friendliest people we’ve ever met! Will definitely come again!!!

This is a wonderful find and Jane is a wonderful host. Genuinely spacious place with lovely decoration, spotlessly clean. I appreciated the warm welcome and thoughtful touches that meant we could settle straight in. We had everything we could possibly need, and a very warm welcome. We only stayed for a long weekend (3 nights) but could very happily have stayed for an extended period. Thank you Jane for the care you take, and for sharing your lovely place with visitors.

We have just returned home after spending 2 nights at the annex over the Twixmas period. What a fabulous property this is. It was so warm and cosy. We truly appreciated the addition of the Xmas decorations, along with the wonderful welcome hamper provided. We met Sheila on our final day and so pleased to meet in person. Lovely lady and truly a super host. We would highly recommend this property for all your holiday needs. A true home from home in a great location, close to all the amenities in Bedale. Great stay, thank you! Lovely hot tub and peaceful location. Extremely clean and exactly as described. Only thing was it was a bit hot 🔥 🥵 But probably our fault for not working out the thermostat! Highly recommend 😊
