The appartment is on the first floor of a newly renovate old style stone house composed of 3 large individual apartments. Enjoy a large shared swimming pool with a splendid panoramic view over the medieval village and surroundings.
“We absolutely loved our stay in this place and would recommend all the tips suggested by Raphael, who is a great host. We visited the pool at Sumbuca, the hillside village of Sillico, Borga and walked to the village of Villa from Castiglione. The place was clean and welcoming and we were so sad to leave the stunning views at the end of our stay. Watching the sun set behind the mountains from the poolside each evening, with a glass of wine was so memorable. The apartment is well equipped and we felt at home very quickly. It is a fabulous base from which to explore the area. We hired a car and would do again. We tried the nearby restaurant Il Castello - which was ok, but we didn't return. A plug-in insect repellent is provided but I was glad that we took one also, for each bedroom at night. I would recommend people to bring insect repellent and use it! Tiny issues we experienced were noise. Guests may find it helpful to know that the road is very close to this apartment, so quite noisy in the mornings if you have the window open. Also the sound travels up from the apartment below, e.g. baby in apartment below crying during the night. Obviously these are things that can't be helped and they did not stop us loving this place.”
The house is located in an area of Tuscany called 'GARFAGNANA' (CHIOZZA - Castiglione G.na), located at 800 mt. The last 6 km are of good mountain road but uphill and with curves. It is a recently restored stone farmhouse with a heated pool that can also be used in spring and autumn and a hot tub up to 36 degrees. The house is structured on 3 levels, ideal for family vacations and relaxing days. It is facing SOUTH and you can enjoy a wonderful view of the picturesque mountains the Apuan Alps.-
“We had a fantastic stay at this house. Rodolfo is a corteous, prudently host. Communication started even weeks before the check-in, and he answered in between minutes, when help was needed. I really can't say anything bad about our stay. The old house is in a nice setup with beautiful rooms and bathes. The pool and the whole environment is clean and the neighbours are extremely friendly. The way up to Chiozza is a challenge, but we took it as an adventure with our bus. We, a family with three kids, will come back for sure. And I absolutely recommend "La Grotta", the restaurant in Chiozza. Delicious!!!!”
2 self catering apartment, facing south, amazing panoramic view, pool, garden, vegetable garden and home made products. We are beekeepers and Olive oil producers with our own olive mill
“Barga is absolutely stunning. Francesca is super nice and very helpful. The property is unbelievably beautiful. Francesca arranged an amazing cooking class where Martina (https://www.facebook.com/lavispateresafood/) came to our apartment and taught my family how to cook Tuscan food. The kids picked figs, peaches, lemons, basil, tomatoes from the property to use in the dishes. In addition, an amazing and very friendly baker comes at 9am ever day with fresh bread, pizza, focaccia and pastries at great prices. The drive in is a bit daunting but when you do it once and know what to expect it is very easy. I can't say enough about Francesca's place it was a major highlight of our trip.”
