Sitting on our 200 acre estate this authentic barn offers our guests a chance to relax in the beautiful rolling hills of Vermont. Access the vast majority of our historic Stowe area land -- from our apple orchards to our extensive walking paths in fields and woodland. We hope that you can experience such fun and quiet time in our cozy, western-style bunk room. Located only a 10 minute drive from downtown Stowe.

The Brookside Cabin

Our Cabin is nestled in the woods of the Adirondack Mountains. The Cabin is behind our family home. We are on a country road close to two towns. Our area offers many amenities such as fishing, hiking, boating, golf, hunting , wine tasting, leaf peeping. The cabin is heated by a wood stove and is the only heat source. “Wood Stove will injure a small child. Fast moving water in brook. Children 7 and up is ok with pre approval. The outside shower is heated, hot water available mid April -Nov.

The house is adjacent to former cross-county skiing trails that are used as hiking trails. You can easily make a short drive to Lake Placid & Whiteface for skiing. Keene with many hiking trails is 20 minutes away; many hiking trails are within 3-5 minutes drive (Rocky Peak, Hurricane, Baxter).

Located on the famous Ausable River. 20 minutes to Whifeface Mountiain or Plattsburgh and the Plattsburgh Airport. 10 minutes from the AuSable Chasm. This can be your resting point after spending a fun filled day in the Adirondacks. At this location you have the opportunity to walk down to the river to fish, paint or just sit and relax in the beautiful surroundings. You’re welcome to have an evening fire in our outdoors fire pit that can be set up for beautiful scenic views of the river.

Only .7 miles to the Jay Covered Bridge, 3 miles to the Jay Mountain summit trail head, 7 miles to Whiteface Mountain, and 16 miles to Lake Placid. Keene and Keene Valley trail heads are only minutes away. The cabin has 3 acres of wooded property with a front driveway as well as a back access drivweway which is nice to walk. Our single story 2 bedroom 1 bath home is located within 30 minutes of Mad River Glen and Sugarbush ski areas and the quaint towns of Bristol, Richmond and Waitsfield. Drive another 15 minutes to Burlington or the Bolton Valley Ski Area. Hiking, biking and cross country skiing trails are nearby, or just sit on the porch and enjoy the sounds of the nearby river. Snow tires and front wheel or 4 wheel drive vehicles necessary during the winter months.
