Holiday rentals with a fire pit in County Durham

Easiest way to put it, it's a home away from home. Host is amazing and very responsive. Definitely coming back again!

As a family of 4 including two tweens needing to get off their gadgets, we have LOVED this stay. The views and comfort of the house are phenomenal. As well as sightseeing, we made time just to chill at the house and enjoy time at the reservoir away from it all. This was made possible because the hosts have literally thought of everything and the layout of the house is brilliant for socialising together. The bedrooms are super comfy, the kitchen has everything and there are some nice perks like the log fire, underfloor heating and unbeatable views that just make the house so enjoyable to be in. We took mountain bikes and glad we did, there are endless well kept trails for walking and cycling right from the door and a great park for kids within a healthy walking distance. Communication and information provided were fab, and we will go back for sure!

The house is just perfect, spacious and all you could need. We were 2 families and there was plenty of space for adults and children. We has a small problem with the heating, but it was resolved super fast and Christian and Andrea were helpful and responsive. The kitchen is well equipped and the AGA is amazing to cook on and keep warm. Would 100% recommend this home and the hosts. Thanks for a fab stay.

The only thing missing were bin bags . Everything else was excellent. Road works outside the window weren’t ideal but we were here to see relatives so it wasn’t too impactful. Could have done with one more bath towel rather than hand towels. Internet connection was poor so may be a reason not to stay again??

A beautiful retreat in a beautiful part of the world. A great place for a meeting amongst friends. Plenty of space, extra blankets for cold nights and a fire to keep warm. An amazing authentic experiences which was loved by all of us. This was a place to remember. Thanks.

We had a lovely time at Murton Farm. There were loads of games for the kids to play in the garden and they enjoyed exploring the huge house. Bedrooms were nice and big. There were plenty of spaces for everyone to spread out, but equally the living spaces were big enough with enough seating for everyone to gather at once and socialise. The hot-tub was a welcome treat after days out with the kids!

We enjoyed our stay at Anita and Bruce’s. The welcome gifts, music playing and the lamps on when we arrived made us feel very welcome. The lodge was perfectly clean. Anita made the effort to provide details for local walks. Great place for unwinding. Besides the small local village being within walking distance, drives out in the car are highly recommended.

Our stay at this Airbnb was absolutely delightful. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a lovely host, Dionne, who made us feel instantly welcome. The property itself is nestled in a tranquil and beautiful location, offering breathtaking landscapes that provided the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of city life. Waking up to the sight of horses and sheep grazing peacefully in front of the estate was a real treat. We particularly enjoyed the evenings, setting up a barbecue and later a cozy fire under the vast, starlit sky. The stargazing was simply incredible in such an undisturbed setting. This Airbnb offers a truly perfect getaway for anyone seeking peace, natural beauty, and a welcoming atmosphere. We left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and would highly recommend this gem to others looking for a tranquil escape.

Fantastic host! We stayed a month and had everything we needed. Appreciated having a washer and dryer! The home was very quiet. Perfectly located near the old town, university and cathedral. Steeped in history. We would recommend this home to anyone visiting Durham!

Nic and Julie’s place was very homely, very tidy and everything, the kitchen, the bedrooms, was of a high quality. Julie was a very friendly and responsive host, who went above and beyond to accommodate us and help us out with anything we needed. Would’ve given 6 stars if I could have.

This place really took us by surprise. We drove 5.5 hours each way, just to visit and our biggest regret was not booking longer! Worth every bit of the money and drive. The place was private and peaceful. Very safe and secure and very quiet so you can really enjoy yourself. Really feels like you have the whole place and surrounding areas to yourself! Utensils and appliances wise you could see Jane has real care and attention to detail, everything you could need or think of was provided. And that too of high quality not just your budget items. The bbq was a proper bbq which was a joy to use. The hot tub come with lighting and jets. Even the pots and pans were tefal! A lot of time and money has gone into it all. Garden was well lit also for those late evenings. Was lovely to meet Ben also. So much more to say but we won’t ruin all the delightful surprises! Very happy with the stay and we will be back for sure. Thank you! And see you next time.

Fantastic accommodation in a beautiful part of the country. The cabin had everything we needed and was spotless clean. The hot tub was great and the option to add a sauna session is highly recommended, the views are amazing! The stay is perfect for relaxation. Anthony was very responsive and gave us some nice tips for local outings through their online guide. He also showed us how to operate the woodfire hot tub with the provided logs, which was very helpful. The only issue we had was how close the cabins were to each other. Our "neighbours" didn't abide by the rule of no outside music and played rave songs on loud, spoiling the advertised tranquility a bit but this was not the host's fault. We would definitely come again but will try to book a quieter time of the year or ask for a cabin at the very end of the site.

Thank you both for a tranquil and idyllic weekend, we loved our stay in Ash. The perfect quiet spot, great for birdwatching and star gazing. The tub was an amazing experience and we will certainly be back! The highlight of our weekend was exploring the big back garden and tasting the amazing cheese we bought from Jonathan at the farmers market.

From the moment we arrived on the grounds this spot is so relaxing. The glamping pods are really well thought out and are comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with different utensils and the pod itself self was brilliantly clean. We stayed in the pod Squirrel 🐿️ and we will definitely be returning customers. Hot tub was amazing and this was checked every day throughout our stay. Pod was lovely and warm, the scenery was fantastic and it was a perfect getaway, thank you.

A really enjoyable couple of days away in a beautiful glamping pod. It was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The welcome basket was a lovely touch

Had a fantastic stay at the lodge! Very quiet and peaceful area, a view of nothing but hills for miles and no light pollution makes for beautiful night skies from the hot tub. Huge bonus that this place was dog friendly and each lodge (there are 3 on the field) had secure gated decking too. A note for future guests: - Make sure you bring everything you need for your stay including toiletries and cooking essentials like cooking oil, salt/pepper. There was a bit of salt at our lodge and some tea bags but luckily we had stocked up for our trip! We did have to pop out to get body wash and shampoo which we forgot. - The shower was quite temperamental and lost pressure very easily which I can imagine being frustrating if there are a few people all wanting to shower but to be honest it wasn’t a problem for us - we were in a countryside lodge after all and it is what it is! - Some of the furniture has seen better days but it’s functional and didn’t detract from our stay.
