"IRIS" Secret Nature Retreat

Just a short distance from Tuscany’s art cities and the sea, we are located in an area of great interest for its flora and wildlife, surrounded by historic villas and protected by landscape conservation regulations. The road leading to our property, which is about one kilometre long, forms part of this heritage; it cannot be tarmacked and is somewhat uneven. To reach us you will have to make a small effort, which can be faced with any car. You will find in return silence, tranquility and our hospitality.

In the green of Tuscany La Gegia Matta is the guesthouse of Villa Ruschi, a magnificent eighteenth-century property characterized by the typical Tuscan style. It is located in the center of Calci, in Val Graziosa and is easily accessible both by car and motorcycle. Nearby you will find restaurants, wine bars, groceries and you can also visit the beautiful Certosa di Calci. It is 10 minutes from Pisa, 20 minutes from Lucca , 1 hour from Florence and 20 minutes from the beaches of the Tyrrhenian coast.

We are a small corner of paradise immersed in the green hills of Tuscany, where time flows at the gentle pace of our horses. Ideal accommodation for families with children. Our house was built at the end of the 1800s by some farmers, who used the spaces near the house for their breeding and cultivation; my grandparents acquired it in 1960 and with the passing of the years and the help of my father first and then the whole family, it became what it is now, and I will continue this cycle.

Ideal for a couple, the house is arranged on two levels. On the ground floor, there is a living room and a kitchen complete with accessories with a dishwasher and washing machine. On the first floor, there is a large double bedroom (possibility of adding a bed for children) and a very spacious bathroom. Anyone is and always will be welcome. The cleaning and sanitizing of the apartments are carried out scrupulously by us in order to ensure maximum safety.

La tenuta Palmierina è in prossimità di Castelfalfi (un vero gioiello di architettura medievale) e nelle vicinanze di Firenze (50 Km), Siena (50 Km), Pisa (50 Km). Nelle vicinanze ci sono due campi da golf.
