The main cabin sleeps 4 people in two bedrooms, and spacious living room with fireplace - as well as sofa group and dining room for 8 people. There is a summer road to the cabin with parking space for 2 cars. Woodshed with outhouse, fire pan, outdoor furniture and wood for fireplace.

Welcome to our "måssåhuset" which is nicely located in Grimsdalen, with a short distance to both mountain trips and swimming opportunities. Here you have the opportunity to relax completely in the silence you get in the mountains, or spend the days on long trips in the mountains. There are also opportunities for swimming right by the cabin. There is no running water or fixed power. A small solar panel system is installed to get some light in the cabin in the evenings. There is also a gas oven so the possibilities for cooking are there.

We live on a small farm with pets and a kitchen garden. On the outskirts of the yard on the farm there is a detached house from 1979. The house is family friendly and has a great view. It has 5 bedrooms and associated common rooms. With nature reserves and national parks around us on all sides, it is a good starting point to spend your vacation here. Great hiking terrain, short distance to Grimsdalen a mountain valley with free-range livestock and a rich plant and animal life. It is part of the Tour de Dovre cycling route.

Fishing in Kvitdalsvatna or on Hjerkinndammen. 4 km to Hjerkinn station. By car it is 35 min to Oppdal, 25 min to Dombås and about 15 min to the nearest store (Dalholen).

Grimsdalen is an idyllic valley between Dovre and Folldal. Here you can relax and find tranquility in great nature, with many opportunities for activities and trips. Our farmhouse in the mountain farm village Tverrlisetra has a good and pleasant atmosphere, but with modern facilities that make the stay easier. Here you have to cater for yourself, but with solar panel, gas stove and running water. From Tverrlisetra you can find many hiking destinations in easy hiking terrain just outside the door.

Enjoy the silence, the views and the good atmosphere in this compact and practical mountain cabin at about 1000 masl on Dovrefjell! You are right by the national park, with proximity to the pilgrim's trail and great hiking areas all year round. There is a road to our cabin, summer and autumn, while you have to park 60 m from the cabin in winter. There is electricity, running water, toilet and shower. In winter you have access to many miles of groomed ski slopes, and alpine slopes nearby.

Great location year-round. The nearest ski lift is 30 minutes away, but cross-country trails pass right by the cabin, giving easy access to winter activities. In summer, enjoy hiking south toward Rondane or north toward Dovrefjell. The cabin is just below the tree line, close to the toll road to Grimsdalsvegen. To prepare the cabin, we send a website in advance with info and options to pre-order bed linen, towels, firewood, EV charging, and more. These are not included.

Location: Skårbu is located in a free/sunny location on Høvringen in Gudbrandsdalen in an area with cabins, setergrender and hotels/mountain lodges. Høvringen has a shop with an inn located about 700 m from the cabin. There is a daily bus service to Otta. The mountain area has established a network of trails in summer and winter, with access to Rondane National Park.
