Chalet holiday rentals in Dumfries and Galloway

We’ve found our happy place ! Location exceeded our expectations, the beach view and the short stroll down to it was blissful and the birds in the garden were unbelievable- so many , all day everyday! We had absolutely everything we could possibly need in the accommodation. We walked everyday and only left the area once to visit the red kite feeding station at Bellymack hill farm - what a joy that was. Even when it rained it was still bliss to be in a lovely warm environment watching the wind and the waves! Although there are other properties around it literally feels like you are alone- we will definitely be back in the spring/summer - I’m longing to swim in the bay!

Altogether a lovely long weekend away, this place is perfect if you like to get out walking the hills etc, all the amenities in the lodge where more than I expected and would definitely stay here again in the future, we where a group of 15 and there was more than enough space and bathroom facilities, all in all I’d recommend the Rabbie burns lodge, just one piece of advice and this does not reflect on the place it’s self, if you book here and decided to order takeaway the only restaurant on just eat is an Indian place it’s absolutely terrible and extremely over priced so avoid that at all costs but there are plenty of menus in the lodge for other takeaways which we found later on Great place to go though thanks lynne

Beautiful lodge with spectacular views. Kitted out to a very high standard. 2 very generous bedrooms with comfortable beds both with good sized en-suite bedrooms. Open plan lounge/ kitchen/ dining area. Very comfortable furniture. Kitchen kitted out with everything needed to eat in. 2 balcony areas. Both sun traps. Small one at the back of the lodge which could do with some deck chairs. The other spans the full width of the lodge which has garden furniture. The location is so peaceful. It is surrounded by fields and we saw lots of wildlife which was fab. It’s very close to the village. It’s 5 mins by car or about 25 min walk. There is a large Spar in the village and several pubs for eating out in the evening. The mill is worth a visit too. Lots of nice beaches along the coast line. We had a very relaxing week and it was a great base for visiting attractions along the Dumfries and Galloway coast line. Would recommend it.

Another wonderful stay at Marilyns Motel. We stayed in the larger of the two options; although both easily sleep two people, Number 2 is perfect for a group of four though as the seating area converts into a double bed. Solo visitors would find Number 1 fine, although it doesn't have a separate sitting area as such. Marilyn is a great host, available without being intrusive, and we look forward to staying in her lovely cabin next year. This will be our fourth visit and repeat visits reveal exactly how great this accomodation is! Thanks Marilyn.

Gorgeous immaculate lodge working close driving distance to both Cockermouth and Keswick and a great base for exploring the lakes. Park is very peaceful and lodge exactly as described. Immaculately clean with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Would thoroughly recommend and will definitely book again

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the tranquil Chalet. The beds & pillows are so comfortable, fresh clean linen & towels. Kitchen well equipped. We will definitely be back for another visit. Thank you

This was our second stay at Secret Trails and had another relaxing break. Short walk into Kippford. Really peaceful and nice views. The cabin is well equipped with everything you would need.

We had a fantastic week staying at the lodge, everything was pristine and as described with more amenities than you could have wished for, we were also greeted with 2 boxes of goodies from a local bakery! Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxed, private and comfortable stay - thank you Ewan!

5 stars rating for Suzi's Lily Pod! from the booking, to the check-out we have had a great experience! Before we arrived, Suzi gave us an extensive list of things to do and where to eat, tailored to our family and the weather! It has been really useful! we love all the places she recommended! The check in went smoothly and Suzi was here to welcome and help us. The pod is absolutely stunning, pristine clean, decorated with care. Someone put a lot of effort and love into this place. The beds are very confortable, linen fresh and cosy. The crockery and kitchen equipment spotless and good quality. There is absolutely everything you need for a nice stay, from hairdryer to speaker, board game's and last but not least, the cherry on the cake, the wood stove! We enjoy that very much indeed. The exterior is so peaceful, straight from a novel. The pond, the wildlife, the cows from the farm, the beautiful trees. Just wow ! Thank you ever so much for a fantastic stay!
