Monthly Rentals in Egelsee

A nice, quiet apartment in the heart of Krems. Elisabeth and his family welcomed us and showed and described the whole stay. We also found welcome snacks for us and our dog. Totally recommended. We will certainly be back for future homes in the Wachau.

This place was perfectly adequate for our purposes. It's not a 5 star hotel and there were some things which surprised us because the description in the ad is pretty scanty. For example, there was no over-head shower, just a shower head attached to a faucet. Not a big deal, you just have to hold it over your head yourself. There is also a garage, which was great because we had a rental car, but figuring out how to get in and out was tricky. The couches and bed were very comfy and the place was clean. The host was not very proactive with supplying information with little-to-no communication before check in. But he was super responsive when we asked him questions, so it wasn't a big hang up. We were really busy touring up and down the Wachau valley during the day (which was gorgeous and so fun!) so all we really needed was a decent place to sleep at night and for that it worked out great! I would stay again:)

The communication with Alex was very friendly and clear from the beginning. The proximity to the train station was ideal for me as I don't have a car. You can be in the pedestrian zone in 10 minutes and also in the old town or also on foot (about 20 minutes) to the starting point for the world heritage or other hiking trails. I quickly felt at home and comfortable in the apartment. The bathroom is very nicely equipped and still quite new. The kitchen is neat and very functional. The setup is the same as the photos. I missed a bathroom rug, since the apartment is quite cool after all. The windows are on the courtyard side, very calm. However, you can hear the neighbors when they are in the hallway. But for early risers, this is certainly not so disruptive. ;) In the apartment there was an infrared heater (flat), which I also found very convenient. Overall, I felt very homely and highly recommend the apartment and the landlord.
