Cottage holiday rentals in El Castillo

This beautiful modern home is situated in a secluded location about 30 minutes from Monteverde Reserve. The host was very flexible with check in and very responsive with questions. The kitchen is equipped with all types of cooking utensils and the host provided breakfast items like eggs, milk, cereal, and coffee, as well as some snacks, fruit, and a bottle of champagne. The place was very luxurious compared to most cabins and lodges located in town where the rooms are basic and A/C is not available. It was nice to return to a comfortable, clean place to take a shower/bath and wind down after a day full of outdoor activities.

Quiet, between 30 and 50 min from activities (Arenal, warm waters, lazy tours, nights, etc.). The outdoor space made us happy day or evening, well sheltered from the rain. Jorge, the neighbor who took care of us (main communication, day-to-day questions, where/when/how to buy fruit) was great. It only communicates in Spanish, it is very generous. The house is large and the beds are comfortable. Air conditioning was working in bedrooms. The kitchen outside was really appreciated. Although we could not use it half of the time we were there, the pool was good, the sauna was not working during our stay. A rooster and several chickens came to our grounds for the kids to enjoy.

Wow! The house, property and view were all spectacular! Manu greeted us upon arrival and showed us around the property. Carolina was very helpful providing useful information about the area and local attractions. Check in and check out were very easy and clear instructions were provided for use of the amenities. The only regret is not booking a longer stay to explore the beautiful property. I highly recommend Linda Vista Green Soul and hope to return one day. ❤️

We had a great stay, and really enjoyed using the hot tub after long adventure days. The home had everything we needed. It was clean and comfortable.

It matches the description, the house has all the conveniences to enjoy as a family. We traveled with a baby and pets and did not have any problems.

Absolutely loved our stay! The property is stunning, with beautifully maintained grounds and breathtaking views of the volcano. Very private - no one else nearby. Our kids couldn’t get enough of the pool and jacuzzi—it was the perfect place to relax. The location is great too, just a quick and easy 15-minute drive into downtown. Kenneth was an exceptional host—super responsive and thoughtful, even leaving fresh coconuts in the fridge for us. We would definitely stay here again!

This is a perfect little casita in the cutest of towns. It was quick and easy to walk into town and find groceries, watch local sports and even catch an annual fiesta! The house has everything you can possibly need and sits on a hill overlooking the area. Neal and Diane (along with sweet little Fanny and Albert) are amazing hosts. So kind and helpful with whatever you will need. Absolutely loved this space and would recommend to anyone!

House is on a dairy farm, cozy and comfortable. Kitchen is equipped with everything you need for cooking, thank you very much. You do need to buy your food before you go since it is a little remote. There is someone working in the middle of the night next to the house and that might bother you if you are a light sleeper. One of the bathroom does not have hot water at the time and it seems common that kitchen does not have hot water. We are ok since there is another bathroom has warm enough water for shower.

Very nice place the truth, my family and I really loved everything, the pool was enjoyed and we liked that it had an area for children as we always travel with children, the hosts were very friendly and overall everything was excellent

Pros: Very spacious, excellent shower and king bed in the master room. A/C in the 2 bedrooms. Very close to La Fortuna Waterfall. Pava, coffee maker and everything you need for cooking. Very nice roofed terrace. Washing machine and dryer available (remember to bring your own soap). TO consider: There was no hot water in the kitchen bacha. Neighbor's rooster may wake you up if you have light sleep:P We live an unlucky situation - she came through a hitch in the door being locked a snake (chasing a grasshopper). We know that it is not the fault of the accommodation itself, that although it can be expected because it is in the jungle environment, it does not take away that we have hit a good scare. We highlight the quick action of the host, who came with someone to remove it from inside the house. For the time of this review the host probably already added a barrier for the door as we mentioned I was going to do. We would also stay again without hesitation!! :)

I had an exceptional experience staying with Alonzo and his family. Their hospitality was outstanding—they were attentive and responsive to all my needs. When I requested a yoga mat, they promptly provided it, along with everything else I asked for. The accommodation is nestled in a serene and peaceful location, perfect for those seeking privacy and tranquility. However, I recommend having a car if you plan to explore the area. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I highly recommend it.

This place was very nice, clean, and spacious for our family of five. It had the most beautiful view any of us had ever seen which was one of the highlights of our trip. The property is very nice and private with a great pool area. The hosts were extremely nice and helpful whenever we needed anything. Highly recommend!

Great host and great place. It's a remote location so be prepared to drive, but the view and privacy are totally worth it. Alejandra is an excellent host who was responsive and helpful.

Everything was perfect! The location is excellent, entrance to the house was simple, the directions were super clear and the privacy of the house is one of its main qualities. Super important to comment that any type of vehicle can be entered. We lasted approximately 9 minutes from the house to the nearest supermarket. Attention and communication with Home Vacations was perfect! Super attentive to your needs. Great for families with children or babies because the house is fully equipped.

Wonderful home….. beautiful grounds. If you are booking transportation I would only accept Adrian as your driver, he is awesome.

There is so much to say about Emanuel’s place! First of all it was in a gorgeous area. Please know 4x4 is highly recommended! The house had everything we needed. Emanuel’s mom was there to greet us and to show us the property and show some amazing hospitality! If you want the real experience stay here! We are already in the process of planning our next stay with Emanuel!
