Waterfront holiday rentals in El Castillo

The place was fucken amazing. The allowed us to check in early as I drove there directly from the airport and arrived at 4am. I would definitely recommend driving when there is sun. The road is on the side of a mountain and at times we’re a little scary. But the place itself was superb. The vila was nice and the view was great. I would say the only thing was there was no AC and as a person from Canada it could get pretty hot in the morning. Other than that I love it.

We absolutely loved our stay in Shiloh’s home! Betto and the others were all so helpful and were great cooks. Having meals ready when we got home from our activities was very convenient especially for our group of 11 adults. The beds were also super comfortable and there were plenty of rooms for us to spread out and have our own space. The home was in a convenient location in the middle of many of our activities and a short 20-30 min drive into the town of La Fortuna

Great location! Within walking distance of all activities on the lake (boating, jet skis, kayaking, paddle boarding, etc.). It was also in walking distance to multiple restaurants. It was close to drive into Fortuna where a lot of other activities are located like Sloth tours. The bed was comfortable which is very important to us. The kitchenette had anything you could need. Coffee, pot, water, kettle, electric, frying pan, etc.. but no oven, just a microwave. We loved the idea of the hot tub on the patio, but there was not enough hot water to fill it. So it was more like a cold tub, but we did get in a couple times despite that. The patio overlooks the lake, which is very beautiful! The driveway is a bit treacherous going up a steep hill with a hard right turn. We were glad we rented a 4WD! Being able to see the Volcano from nearly every window in the house was really neat also! the bathroom is large and had everything we needed also!

We stayed here 3 nights over the weekend. Really beautiful house with a big garden where you are close to the nature. Ideal for a calm and relaxing stay. You also got to check out the lovely details around and inside the house. It was absolutely amazing!

My boyfriend and I traveled to Costa Rica to celebrate his birthday, and staying at Kelly and Alejandro's Airbnb made the trip truly unforgettable. When we arrived, they were incredibly welcoming and offered fantastic recommendations for local excursions. The location is unbeatable—just down the street from ziplining and Lake Arenal. Perched atop a hill, the property offers stunning views of the Arenal Volcano, making every morning a delight.​ The Airbnb itself is beautifully designed and well-structured. Waking up there each morning was lovely. They provided a basket of fresh fruits and eggs, which made for perfect breakfasts to start our days.​ Adding to the experience is the fantastic restaurant owned by Kelly and Alejandro, located just below the Airbnb. The food was delicious, and I highly recommend trying the burrito—it's a must! Dining there while enjoying the stunning views was a highlight of our trip.​ A special mention goes to Harley, their adorable cat. Deff recommend!!!

We had slight difficulty finding this place as we arrived after dark. What a treat to wake up the next day to the sounds of birds and howler monkeys and a spectacular view of Lake Arenal! The previous evening we had the best meal of our entire vacation at Restaurante Tinajas just down the road. In the morning, we rented the Paddle board. It was so peaceful out on the lake with gorgeous views. The unit is exactly as described. There are not many extras such as salt/pepper for cooking or shampoo for showering.

Casa Cielo is a special place. I was looking for something more unique than the rinse and repeat new Airbnb builds closer to La Fortuna. The huge windows overlooking the private lake was serene. Curt is an incredible host who truly embraces the concept of "hosting". The food was spectacular - way above and beyond. Extremely generous high-effort home cooking from Vielca (sp?). We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner each day we were there and had no desire to go to restaurants. They even did laundry for us! I'd definitely return and recommend to anyone looking for a unique place to stay.

Fantastic accommodation with a fantastic view of Arenal volcano directly opposite. We thoroughly enjoyed listening to the birds on the balcony whilst sipping a morning coffee. It was such a luxury to have the river right on our doorstep and all to ourselves! A hidden gem just a 2 minute drive away from the hustle and bussle, we would highly recommend and stay again!
