Cottage holiday rentals in Elvas

We picked it up to escape the routine, and we were quite surprised by everything, both the house, and the place it was located (in the middle of the mountain), and the kindness of the hosts. It's a very cozy place and helps to disconnect a lot of things. We don't have any sticks, we'll be back!!

It's been a wonderful vacation - the place is perfect for rest, and the photos don't do it justice. The property consists of four houses, one common (with pool, treadmill, etc.) and several lounging areas around the pool, clean and good size, as well as a pond full of fish. In the area there are several villages with supermarkets and good restaurants; Évora is 40 minutes away. It is a perfect place to get to know the Alentejo and spend the day for example in Lisbon or Évora. The owners, Mathieu and Martha, are absolutely lovely, attentive, polite and respectful. They have been attentive to our needs without being invasive. We are sure that we will repeat it, and we highly recommend it to everyone.

Very spacious house with pleasant terraces and a lovely swimming pool. Carlos and his wife welcomed us with open arms! They were very friendly and very flexible with check-in and check in. Absolutely recommended!

Leo’s place is very convenient for big groups to see Alburquerque and surroundings. She’s very friendly and kind.

Maura is an excellent host and ambassador for the region. Nothing was too much trouble, even delivered breakfast to our room that evening, as we had to leave before breakfast was commenced in the dining room. The accommodation was exceptional and spacious..quiet and peaceful. Would be a nice getaway if we had longer!

We spent a week at Peter and Rosemary's lovely BnB and we could have stayed longer! The home itself is beautiful with a fully appointed kitchen, comfortable beds and a cozy atmosphere. We lucked out on warm weather, so we spent most of our time on the porch, with gorgeous views of the surrounding area, and in the pool. What a great way to relax after a day of touring local towns and riding horses through the countryside. We also found the local hiking trail that provided a fun way to see the history and beauty of the countryside. It was walkable to the trail from the BnB. Peter and Rosemary are amazing hosts. They welcomed us so warmly and made us feel at home. We enjoyed their friendship and their hospitality. We would absolutely come back to their place when visiting Portugal again.

We have spent the end between friends and the truth that Maria's house has everything you need for both a long and short stay. Very well equipped. The only “pega” is that we were all adults and there is a room that is children, it is 4 bunk beds, if the adults are big as we were maybe it is something uncomfortable, but we already knew it from before.

Very quiet location, nice view of the valley. Sheep, goats, dogs, a horse and a lot of parakeets are the neighbors. Very rural, in the morning you can hear the roosters from the village, then the dogs, then the bells of the sheep and goats - very idyllic. The house is spacious, lovingly decorated and smells wonderful. The garden is very large, many seating options, the freestanding lounge is particularly beautiful. Many beautiful plants, everything very well maintained and everywhere solar-powered lamps and lights that spread a homely atmosphere in the evening. Much of the garden is dry grass/dust, but that's the case everywhere here after the summer and it doesn't bother. Lúcia and Carla (daughter) greeted us personally and were very nice. They also recommended the (only) village restaurant - we were there twice and it was really very good, cheap and warm. (You can watch great football with the locals!) Many attractions of Alentejo are nearby.

Very nice stay, very sunny. Lake nearby to cool off very pleasantly, with beautiful sunset over the olive trees. Very nice rustic house, full of charm, very well equipped. Patricia, the host is very welcoming and very available. Thank you.

Lovely location! I was extremely happy because the beds were very comfortable. I loved the layout of the place as well. Very close to some awesome restaurants and many other great spots to visit in the area.

Comfort, cleanliness, tranquility and above all an ideal environment to disconnect from the world. Everything was very clean and there was no shortage of details.

The stay was incredible. Yasmina by message answered all our questions and the host of the house was aware that we were comfortable and we were not missing anything. All ten, both cleaning and service, location,... everything. Definitely to repeat.

We spent a long weekend here. The house was amazing with an astonishing view of the river. Pedro and Ana, our hosts, were very kind and welcoming. Everything was perfect.

The Inês place has a very private concept and little seen on airbnb. Being at Al Sharaz is like being in our house. The place lives and breathes! Very clean, smelling and with all necessary utilities, especially in the kitchen. Interestingly, this weekend was chosen to be a real gastronomic challenge and there was nothing of utensils or small household items that missed us at Inês's house. The decor is groomed and glamorous. The experience was very positive, we will return for sure. What you see in the photos is what you see when you arrive at Al Sharaz.

We enjoyed staying at the cottage which was warm and well equipped, the location was perfect for visiting Marvão and Castelo de vide. We pre ordered a meal for our arrival night which I highly recommend, the food and wine was delicious. Communication with the host was also very good, and the fresh daily bread was much appreciated.

Staying at Diogo’s near Grândola, Portugal, was incredible. The house is a spacious, classic Alentejo-style home, filled with warm woods, straw accents, and linens, evoking the elegance and comfort of the Sublime Hotel in Comporta. Every detail was thoughtfully curated—luxurious mattresses, mood candles, and flexible lighting created the perfect atmosphere. I haven’t bought the mattress yet, but I’m tempted! Discreet decor added a sophisticated but cozy touch, making it feel both stylish and homely. Practical touches were everywhere, from sun hats to a credenza stocked with beautiful crockery, spices and dry ingredients for a good cook. Despite its proximity to the motorway, the location is serene; you can’t see or hear it, so it never disturbs the tranquility. The garden was beautifully designed. Enjoyed every mornings having This place exceeded every expectation, blending style, comfort, and thoughtful touches for an unforgettable stay. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Alentejo.

We stayed for a week, but would have loved to stay longer. If you look for a quiet and peaceful stay, you won’t find anything better. The property is huge with lots of horses, cows and even very adorable dogs, that love to show you around😉 The breakfast is great if you choose to take it. We will come back for sure

We were with family, although the weather wasn't great, we had a great time and we were very comfortable. We only needed one more bathroom, otherwise very satisfactory,

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house. Claus was the perfect host. The house is probably the most comprehensively furnished we have stayed in (and we've stayed in over 40 rental homes). The kitchen comes fully equipped with all the utensils one could need. The area is very quiet and rural, exactly what we wanted when we made the reservation. The views are wonderful. Great for relaxing with a glass of wine at the end of the day. With that, it was very easy to get around and all the stores that one could want were found in the local town of Reguengos. Don't miss Monsaraz, less than 20 minutes by car. It is spectacular. Overall, don't hesitate to stay here!

Excellent stay in this typical Alentejo house. The natural pool is a real plus in this area given the hot weather in the summer. We will definitely come back!
