Between the woods and heath, you can sleep in this restored Gipsy cart. If you like comfort, nature and privacy, you're here at the right place. The pearl of this region is still the viper, one of the rarest reptiles in Flanders. Besides hiking and biking, the area is also suitable for day trips like visiting the 'Lilse Bergen' in summer (4.1km), the abbey of Westmalle (13km), Lilse Golf & Country (2.2km). Antwerp is also with 40km not very far.
“Veerle is a nice nice woman, quick in response to emails, laid back and welcoming. She has a beautiful place with a super nice caravan, with all the luxury. The trailer has a good CV, wonderful bathroom, cozy and personally decorated. You have your own veranda and garden, your own driveway for the car, peace and quiet. You walk straight into the forest, and you have complete privacy. We thought it was perfect there!”
“A very large room with a sitting area with TV, a table where I could work well, a nice bed, a shower and a kitchen. Really everything is provided. And the hostess Vera makes everything even better. Fantastic breakfasts and nice conversations. Super everyone !!!!”
Our hand-made forest yurt sits in a secluded old growth forest on a private estate near medieval Bruges. The yurt is 5,5 meters (18 feet) in diameter. It sleeps 4 people comfortably, with a double bed and a double pull-out couch (but can just fit up to 6 people with two extra mattresses provided). There's a wood stove & kitchenette inside. Linen, towels and organic soap/shampoo are provided.
“You will he greeted by Jan who will walk you around the grounds and the yurt and give you all the information you will need for your stay. The forest is well managed and looks really isolated so you really get a feel off being away from everyone. There is an outside compost toilet and a tree house bathroom (which I loved) for all your hygiene needs, I would always brush my teeth with bottled water as I always do when travelling, there is a fire pit and plenty off wood to burn to keep you warm and feeling cosy in the evening, you can cook on the fire as their is a grill to use too, we had a lovely fire pit meal and it tasted so much better eating it sat around the camp fire. The yurt is amazing, it really is, I loved it a lot more than I thought I would, it’s so well adorned and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. If you want to leave the city behind you and get back to nature then Jans forest yurt is just the place to do this, the biggest problem with the yurt is ......... you have to leave it and face the real world after your stay.”
