This is a private container house on the shore of Lake Gyokudō, a beautiful lake in Suefuno, Chichibu. We connected a 20 ft container and a 12 ft container with an outdoor living room. Limited to one group, so you can enjoy with peace of mind. We reuse containers that were actually used at sea, so you can feel the authentic taste and romance. The site is 250 tsubo, so it's okay to bring a tent. Barbecues and fires are allowed on the premises. You can enjoy a barbecue over a direct fire. We also have a tent sauna, drum can bath, firewood cutting experience, row boat, etc. Please let me know if you have any requests. You can go down to the shore of Lake Gyokudoyo from the premises. Shimomura no Hanare

The accommodation "Shimamura no Hanare" is just over an hour's drive from the city, and the peaceful scenery of a rural area rich in nature stretches out before you. "Shimomura no Hanare" was named after our family's business name. The accommodation is a compact but private space, and you can enjoy the seasonal scenery from the garden room. In the early Showa period, cars were not yet common in this area, and people mainly made a living by raising horses, cows, goats, chickens, etc. in stables. There is a renovated stable on our property, which is a charming space. The stable is also a space exclusively for guests. Children are welcome, and up to one small dog is allowed. In addition, although it is limited to certain seasons, you can enjoy activities such as picking shiitake mushrooms grown on logs, digging up bamboo shoots, picking bracken, and harvesting yuzu.

Welcome to Richard Flavin's Washi House! Richard Flavin (1943–2020) was a Japanese paper artist originally from the US. He studied design in Boston and came to Japan in 1970. He later studied woodblock printing and developed a deep interest in the production of washi. He also cultivated the raw material for washi paper, paper mulberry. We invite those interested in washi paper and art to stay overnight and enjoy this space, reminiscent of a washi paper museum, including these unfinished areas.
