Abdo's apartment is very spacious. the bed is comfortable, Aswan market is very close. But maybe a little noise.

The island is a great respite from the bustling Boulevard of Aswan city. The place is a quick ferry ride from the mainland and the place is right off the public ferry dock. Gasser was extremely responsive and proactive, arranged for us a boat when we arrive at midnight. He was very quick in responding all the time. the place was squeaky clean and new, and the people who helped us get in were very hospitable. The island has no cars so walking is the only mode of transport and adds to its charm. the place is a short walk on dirt roads to a number of great restaurants. check out was a breeze. The beds were full size and the pillows and mattress were firm side. We loved the place and would stay there again!

What a wonderful stay on the Elephantine Island! The location was great as everything else. The host Saif is a gentle soul with many talents including healing, cooking, and painting. He prepared delicious omelet and guava juice every morning. Also we were treated to a delicious dinner at his friend’s cafe where we listened to a soulful Nubian Sudanese music while watching the rise of the moon over the Nile. What a lovely introduction to Nubian culture ! This experience restored my faith in people in Egypt after I encountered a predator host in Luxor earlier this month. Thank you Saif! I have to say that staying here is the most unforgettable and best experience that I have in Aswan! The host helped us to find taxi drivers. He was so kind, sincere, warmhearted and helpful. We become friends now. Hope to come back here again!
