In addition to summer river fun and winter snow play, the Lithuanian barrel sauna and bathing in the source spring right in front of you are highly popular as an 'otherworldly sauna experience'. During the green season, we offer an outdoor bonfire (with a teepee set up depending on the time of year), and in winter, we use an indoor wood-burning stove.You can enjoy a profound moment of conversation while gazing into the fire. One of the real joys of this accommodation is gathering around an outdoor BBQ or a hotpot. For those who want to escape from everyday life and discover their true selves. Location Opened in May 2024. Located in the heart of Takayama's historic district, Makoto-ya Ojin is a stylish inn in 1-chome, Ojin-cho, Takayama City, where the good old Japanese landscape remains. In front of our house, which is sandwiched between the Hida-Buri Highway that connects the former Toyama and Takayama, there are the Nissho-bu Mingei Kan and the Yoshima residence, which are important cultural properties that show the rich cultural assets of Japan, and this area is designated as a preservation district for traditional buildings. You can enjoy the old town and beautiful scenery while experiencing historic buildings. It is a 2-minute walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and a 5-minute walk to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, the site of the autumn Takayama Festival. The festival stall in this area is called Hōmeita, and it has a variety of decorations such as a palanquin and sculptures (1-minute walk to the stall). Enjoy Takayama's history to the fullest in an excellent location. <Building and Hida master carpenters> Built 145 years ago by a master craftsman from Hida, this building has been revived here by modern craftsmen. [⚠️For groups of 7–8 people] To prevent noise and maintain quality, the basic system setting at our facility is limited to a maximum of 6 people. If you wish to stay with a group of 7 to 8 people, please do not make an instant booking, but be sure to send an "Enquiry (Booking Request)" in advance. After confirming and agreeing via message that you will comply with all house rules (especially the rule prohibiting noise at night), the host will approve your booking. * An additional fee of ¥15,000 per person will be added. [Hida Takayama] kiyomi-so, located in Hida Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture The building is located on a vast site of over 2,000 m² and features both Japanese and Western styles.(Limited to one group per day) There is a large fireplace inside the building, and you can enjoy watching the fire. A variety of cooking utensils, seasonings, and more are also available, so you can enjoy cooking. Outside, you can enjoy a BBQ on the large grill, a sauna, fireworks, a bonfire and more while gazing at the star-filled sky. There are also no private houses around, so you can enjoy music with loud noises. It is about a 15-minute drive from Takayama Station, but you can also pick up and drop off by car. HAKU is a Japanese Style Villa. You can enjoy your private time as in your home. “HAKU“ is one of the readings of the character “百” which means “hundred”. Medieval Haiku poet, Basho Matsuo likened eternal passage of time to "百代の過客", a permanent traveller. In his time, a hundred years was expressed as eternal. HAKU was originally built as a farmer’s shed about a hundred years ago. It was recently relocated and renovated for another hundred years. HAKU will welcome you as traveling companions.
