Monthly Rentals in Great Doward

Wyewood Cottage was a fantastic retreat for the long bank holiday weekend for us with our two children. We immediately felt relaxed in the fantastic surroundings. The extensive, communal gardens were so beautiful and allowed our daughters to run around freely and safely. The cottage was very clean and more spacious than it looked on the photos. The view from the front windows was amazing! The beds were really comfy especially the king size bed in the main room and the amazing shower was lovely hot! The cottage is in a magical place right by the hand ferry to cross the river or a short walk to Ye olde ferry inn on the same side. You can take a walk from the cottage along the river bank both ways and Symonds Yat rock is a great walk up on the opp side of the river. You can even see the famous chalet from Sex Education series from the cottage! With limited traffic and beautiful surroundings this cottage is the perfect place to unwind. Susannah was an amazing host who was so helpful.

What a wonderful gem of a cottage. About the cottage-: The lounge sofa is so so comfy and big to chill out on. The king bed in the main bedroom is so comfy too and with the peaceful tranquil setting, made for a great night’s sleep. Having the use of 2 bathrooms is also great. The absolute gem is the balcony - a great sun trap when having your morning coffee. We had mixed weather during our stay but those precious moments sitting on the balcony when the sun came out, was lovely. Even the dog loved it. Easy to find - although a narrow lane to the cottage- there are plenty of passing places so it’s not scary as we had a big SUV and the parking space opposite cottage, was easy to park our car. The communal gardens out the front are pretty and convenient for your dog. The location and scenery are superb— to walk out from your door. Highly recommend the Ye Ole Ferrie Inn (10 mins walk) on the same side. Thank you- we definitely want to return.

We had a fantastic stay. The area is very beautiful with walks from the door and local pub by the river. The cider press is quirky (natural air conditioning in the downstairs bedroom on the hot days!) and comfortable and well equipped. There is a nice decking and outdoor seating area with bbq and brazier. Cheryl and Mark are lovely, welcoming and can’t do enough for you. Would highly recommend.
