Monthly Rentals in Great Langdale

Amazing place to stay! Caroline has brilliant communication and eased all of our doubts prior to our trip; great location, amazing views, lots to do. Caroline’s place is so clean, super comfy beds, modern bathroom and kitchen, amazing amenities, just the perfect place. Would highly recommend!

The cottage is in a quiet location, off the beaten track, although there was some noise in the morning from builders working opposite during our stay - presumably a temporary situation. We were lucky with the weather, and you can walk from the cottage to Grasmere or the Langdales. Useful general store a couple of mins away, open till 5pm. The local pub is also a couple of mins away, with good menu and (welcome) no booking policy. We also ate at The Drunken Duck (very good, albeit around 30 mins drive), and Queens Head (Troutbeck). The cottage itself is very clean and comfortable; ideal for 2 adults (we particularly liked the comfy sofa after climbing Hellvelyn and Scafell Pike). Not a huge amount of storage space upstairs, so maybe a squeeze for 4 adults? Good cooking facilities and some useful condiments (salt, pepper, jam, etc). Would return if visiting the same location.

We spent 5 nights here at the end of March and start of April 2025. We were really fortunate with the weather and took full advantage of the wonderful location: scaling Slight Side and Scafell on one day, riding to Coniston via the bridleway on another and 'bagging' most of the Coniston fells on another day via Wrynose Pass. We ate in on a couple of nights and also went to the Wainwright's for some pub grub, as well as Stoves for their evening menu. Simon and Belinda's place is very well situated in Great Langdale for all kinds of walks and rides, food and decent pints. The house itself is a lovely place to return to in the evening with easy parking outside for our van and once inside, everything is spotless, well equipped and cosy. We really appreciated all the helpful information on bike routes and walking routes and spent the late evenings by the fire pouring over the Wainwright books planning the next day's adventures. 100% recommended.

The cottage was perfect for me and my friend and we had a wonderful stay. The location is out of this world and is easily accessible to fantastic walking locations and the lakes. I will be back!!
