fantastic house which is a lot bigger than the photos suggest. the house is very nicely furnished with all amenities needed. the setting is great right in the middle of the village with parking in front. there is 2 pubs and another a short walk away. Highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back

We would echo all the positive reviews before us. Max and Martin (who are lovely hosts) have sensitively restored Overdale Cottage, a c1750 lead miner's cottage, with love and discernment. It was a pleasure to spend time in this historic rustic setting, which is perfect for unwinding and enjoying simple but sublime pleasures. The property has all the mod cons one would want, without losing its historic ambience. The living area and main bedroom, in particular, are special spaces. For tall people, I'm just short of 6'4" but the very comfortable kingsize bed was long enough for me and the rest of the property was fine from a headroom perspective, ducking when appropriate (which is unavoidable in historic properties). You can sit out and watch the world go by from the front garden which has an open aspect so you get sunshine most of the day, and only few vehicles passing by. The location is excellent for walking and visiting local sites. A very special property in a very special spot.

We had a lovely stay in this calm, clean and cosy cottage - an amazing location across from the Dales Bike Centre (great breakfasts, cake and sandwiches) and the perfect base for exploring Swaledale. Thank you!

A huge thank you for our stay in the beautiful house with stunning views. Real thought and consideration given to making us feel welcome and at home (even for 1 night!). Flowers, biscuits, milk in fridge, cereal for children on the side- such a lovely touch. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay and we will definitely be back. Thank you
