Vacation rentals in Hague

“This is really an excellent getaway. As the other reviews said, the pictures don't do it justice. We were looking for a place to unplug and unwind. This was definitely it. Katherine was a fantastic host. From the moment we arrived, she made sure we knew our way around and had everything we needed. The cottage itself is small, which we expected from the photos. It was actually very cozy. It sits feet from the water. There isn't an inch of it where you don't have a great water view (outside of the bathroom). It sits tucked by the water on the larger property of the host. The dock and pool are both easily accessible, each about 50 yards from the cottage. You could fish from the shore or the dock and there were crab pots on the dock we could have used (we did not). There was a rowboat and a couple kayaks for our use as well. We took the kayaks out quite a few times and had a GREAT time. The 7am Kayak trip was breathtaking ... so peaceful and serene. We took a swim in the pool a couple of times a day as well. The pool looks straight out to the dock and water. We also took a daily trip to feed the goats and see the chickens, which were both unique experiences. We arrived in the middle of COVID, so we didn't make plans to sight see, only to stay away from people. We brought our own food, most of which fit in the dorm sized refrigerator. Katherine offered space in her freezer in the main house as well. We ate all our meals on the site, grilling each night on the nice sized and well maintained propane grill. We had our choice of eating inside, on the screened in front porch, the table on the connecting patio, or out the dock at an umbrella covered picnic table. Wi-fi was not available in the cabin, but was available around the pool, AT&T and Verizon service were spotty but available across most of the property (but only a bar or two). Verizon was the slightly better of the two. When we arrived, we were worried we would run out of things to do and get bored. When we left, we were disappointed we weren't staying for more time. My wife and I both highly recommend this for a quiet getaway or to reconnect with nature and each other. There is certainly no shortage of relaxation here. As I've seen others say, it truly is a little slice of heaven.”

“The view alone is well worth the trip, but renting here also gives you access to a beach where fossils wash up, a lake, kayaks, and after COVID-19 ends, a pool! We loved grilling out on the porch watching the sunset, swimming every morning in the Potomac, and fishing. It's a great space, with an open living/dining/kitchen plan that looks out on the water. Would love to come back again soon!”

“A wonderful place for a social distancing vacation! Quiet, peaceful with amazing views! We fished, crabbed, sat by the fire pit, played games--the perfect getaway!! Tammy was the perfect host and provide more amenities then we could ask for! It was like staying at your friend's home! She made us feel very welcome! Great neighbors who always offered a wave and a hello! One note to future guests- the 2 twin beds (bunk beds) are very close together and would be perfect for little ones but not so much for adults. Overall a great vacation spot I would definitely recommend! Ps-- try Cockrell Creek Seafood Market in Reedville for fresh seafood at great prices! Only about 25 minutes away!!”
