This was our very first AirBnB stay for our 1 year wedding anniversary and Maureen and Matt set the bar high! We were searching for a quiet, peaceful cabin with a hot tub and great view. This cabin delivered everything and more. Maureen thought of every detail, from the cool instruments throughout to play, to the expansive record collection, even leaving a beautiful sketch of a bird for us to find on the picturesque enclosed porch. We watched birds fly over the mountains with the supplied binoculars, spent a relaxing night under the string lights watching the stars in the hot tub, and planned our next years goals together while playing connect 4 and enjoying our wedding cake in the living room. The cabin was super clean and well equipped. We forgot a few things and to our delight, were able to find substitutes easily. We ventured into Berkeley Springs for a coffee and it was such a cute town. Absolutely perfect weekend. Thank you!

We had the best time! We had everything we needed besides food. The same goes for our dog. Dog bowls were even provided for her. Every aspect of the place was well thought out. We were happy to find binoculars, bc we always forget ours. We saw several ducks, geese and an eagle. The surroundings were quiet and peaceful. It was a beautiful place inside and out. Our favorite spot was sitting by the wood stove in the comfy chairs next to the sliding doors to the top deck. The view of the Cacapon River was breathtaking. We felt right at home. We were lucky and had decent enough weather to enjoy our coffee on the deck. Communication was excellent before and during our stay. Highly recommend!

We had the best time! I booked this place for a getaway for my husband’s birthday and we loved it! The place was great, the hot tub was amazing and we enjoyed so much. Can’t wait to be back!

Great location. Peaceful. Check in was a little rough, but that was more my inability to access the manual than the fault of the host. Cabin was as listed, though a bit more rustic than the pictures had let on (positive for us!). Hot tub was perfect addition to a surprisingly warm day. Plenty of seating throughout. Would recommend bringing extra towels as you are provided one per person, which can be rough when combining hot tub use and showering. Overall a nice relaxing stay. Love the screened in patio. Will definitely keep this place in mind for summer getaways.

Great place to stay! Everything was very new, and loved all the bells and whistles - fireplace, games, books, hot tubs, telescopes, etc. Lots of space and good view as well.

This stay fit all of our needs and then some! It was a great peaceful cabin next to the river and close to hiking and cross country skiing. The hot tub was clean, comfortable, and perfect for the winter weather. The surprise win for us were all the really nice appliances, which made prepping food at home a breeze. Thanks again for a great stay!

This place is amazing… My husband and I decided to getaway for valentines and wanted something to disconnect and this was perfect. When we first walked in the place was perfectly clean and it smelled delicious. As soon as you walk in you feel that peace and calm that makes you feel at home. We had plans to go out and do something outside but we were so relaxed that we preferred to stay in. Is very private and it allows you to enjoy the sounds and beauty of the mountain. Sabita is the best host ever, replies super fast, the instructions provided are clear and easy to follow. Thank you for creating this magical place. We can’t wait to book again soon!

We had the most amazing stay at this rustic log cabin! The perfect balance of cozy charm and modern amenities made it an unforgettable experience. The cabin comfortably housed our group of five, and we were all impressed by how spacious yet intimate it felt. We especially loved that it was pet-friendly, allowing us to bring along our furry friend, who had a blast exploring the surrounding nature. The rustic charm of the cabin, with its beautiful wooden beams and stone fireplace, was matched perfectly by the modern touches—sleek kitchen appliances, a luxurious bathroom, and comfy beds made for a great stay. The host was super friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, providing us with helpful tips about local attractions and making us feel right at home. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway that combines nature and comfort, this cabin is the place to be! Would definitely recommend it and would love to stay again.

This place was fantastic for a group. Kitchen was well stocked with good utensils and cookware. The appliances were all very nice as well as the atmosphere. They note that it can be hard to find with GPS. this is true. Apple Maps and Waze WILL take you to the wrong place. Google Maps seemed to work perfect. Only comment id add is it’s seems you need to hit star * after typing the gate code. Great place if you want a remote escape.

A wonderful place to disconnect and immerse yourself in nature. The cabin is peaceful, fully equipped, and exactly as shown in the pictures. We visited with our dog, Pixel, and loved the cozy atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. Jim was an excellent host—responsive, proactive, and great at communicating. We would definitely love to return!

We had such a relaxing and peaceful time at the cabin! Julia was such a great host :) She recommended us places to visit upon booking and was so nice letting us check in early and check out later. The cabin’s design was very cozy and serene. The space was perfect for 2 people and a dog and had everything we needed. We loved using the kitchen and the fireplace. Hope to be back in warmer weather!

The Hideaway was perfect for our girls getaway! The house was the CLEANEST Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in. Literally spotless. The attention to detail was so impressive and much appreciated. We had everything we needed! We loved having a fire in the woodstove and cozying up on the couch for movies! We felt right at home. Adam and Chelsea were super responsive and great hosts! Would give it 10 stars if I could!

Cozy, peaceful, and pristine small cabin close to the river, C&O Canal, Paw Paw Tunnel, and other local attractions and state parks. Highly recommend for a fun, relaxing family weekend away! We were particularly impressed with the local recommendations and really comfortable beds! A must-stay for anyone in the area!

Wow! We had such a nice night at Buffalo Gap. Cabin just as described. Sean and all of the hosts were so friendly and helpful - we felt so welcomed and like it was our own little community. We’re already planning a trip back in the spring with extended family. Highly recommend!

Absolutely adored this cozy, modern-feeling cabin. It had a fully stocked kitchen, thoughtful supplies stocked throughout, and a great sense of decoration that felt cozy without feeling over the top. We had a relaxing time popping in a DVD from the collection, letting our dog run around the property, cooking meals, and drinking coffee with a few of the falling leaves. A short walk across the street to the creek was well worth it. They have a private grove where you can read and take in the sights and sounds of a small stream (just remember your bug spray). We also used the host's suggestions to hike Big Schloss and grab a bite in Wardensville on the way back. It was a perfect retreat in the mountains.

I think it can be hard to find a great spot for a winter vacation. This was an incredibly cozy stay for a weekend of rest and rejuvenation. I love — love — that covered patio. It was a dream to curl up with cocoa & a book in that space while looking out at the river. The space is about a half hour drive from hiking, but it’s perfect for a restful vacation. I especially loved that you could clearly see the stars from the patio at night & there were no fireworks for New Year’s Eve in the area, which my nervous puppy was so grateful for. Would love to go back!

Had a wonderful stay at this cabin. Great location right beside the river, cozy inside with nice screened porch and firepit outside. A short drive to Wardensville for services. Recommended!

We had a wonderful time at the place and privacy to ourselves - exactly we needed during our evacuation from the aftermath of hurricane Helene. The house is specious and has a lot of beautiful natural lights. We also enjoy the recommendation places, kayaking in the river, and hiking at Paw Paw tunnel.
