Beach house holiday rentals in Hilo

This stay way absolutely wonderful. Such a beautiful and peaceful location. We really enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and fell asleep nightly to the soothing jungle sounds. The host was extremely accommodating and made sure everything was perfect for our stay. This has been my favorite Airbnb stay by far! I will definitely be staying here again if I ever make it back to the islands !

Street leading to the house are very dark at night. Take care when finding the right turn onto the street. access to the beach is quite difficult. The steep stairs leading down is scary for oldies like me. Every day, it was cool and windy, definitely no need for air-conditioning.

Robert and Erin were great hosts and communicators. The house is located across a beautiful park/beach. Even though the park was busy it didn’t fell intrusive at all, we loved having our coffee on the front porch in the mornings and unwinding in it at night. We have young boys who loved all the chickens and lizards in the yard, and seeing the sea turtles across the street. Overall the house is in great shape and met our expectations!

Shiva's cottage was absolutely wonderful. We loved everything about it...the deck that practically overhangs the ocean, the house layout, the design-we especially adored the kitchen floor-the whole house was beautifully decorated, with thoughtful touches throughout. Shiva was a pleasure to work with-very welcoming and great communication. The area is quiet and peaceful, which is just what we were looking for, after a busy week in Kona. Thank you Shiva for an amazing stay-we can't wait to come back!

Incredibly beautiful, modern clean home with gorgeous ocean views away from the city. The soothing sounds of the waves and the ocean breeze made for a relaxing stay. The upscale appliances and tech throughout the house and arcade games were nice detailed touches. The hosts were prompt and responsive in communicating, which was much appreciated. However, be warned that there are bugs at night due to the location, they are not harmful but rather annoying. Just like the rest of the island, keep minimal lights on at night. The hosts did address this issue. Despite the bugs, we had a very memorable and relaxing stay!

Truly enjoyed my stay here. It was quiet, homey with high end finishes and an incredible view, even spotted a few whales. It felt like a home away from home. David the host was warm and communicative, and gave amazing recommendations for the best local food and snorkeling spots. I will definitely be coming back for a stay in the future.

Beautiful house across the toad from Kehena Beach. The rooms were beautiful and the bathrooms were immaculate. Kitchens were stocked with dishes, glasses and utensils and much more. Loved sitting on the lanai. Beautiful view of the ocean. Walking distance to the drum circle on the lawn. Just a fantastic stay!

An amazing house in a beautiful part of the island. We loved the shared and separate spaces. Would definitely stay here if we are in the area again. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it!

Our small family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) loved our stay at Michael’s. We are already planning to come back ! Quiet area, with many hang out spots so we could be together when we wanted, and have space when we needed. The little pool was a big hit ! My girls and I were in it multiple times a day to keep cool. Great kitchen, well equipped with all you need. Huge TV for those rainy family movie nights. Lots of outdoor space for workouts, and looking for Geckos, Lizards and Chickens who happen to wander by. There is one of the nicest beaches I’ve seen close by - but it is a 60min committed walk in through amazing jungle on a very old chopped up cobble roadway that the ancestors used. It’s muddy - but well worth seeing the turtle refuge / spring water filled ocean bay at the end. Overall - I highly recommend this stay! It allowed us to soak up the Aloha in style.

We chose this property because of the close proximity to the ocean. There is no beach but you can definitely hear the waves crashing and it was very tropical. Besides the house next door, it is very private. Plenty of kitchen appliances, plateware, and silverware. The neighbors were friendly, including their dog. Overall, we had a great stay would definitely recommend this house if you are looking for peaceful, quiet time on the island.

We loved the property. We definitely appreciated all the switches being labeled and the property was beautiful. The pool was clean and a lot of fun, and there were plenty of dishes, etc. in the kitchen to satisfy multiple meals with 7 guests.

Beautiful home and wonderful host. We had everything we needed or could ask for. Mari was a perfect host answering any questions, providing many local recommendations and even met us at checkin to show us her home. The view was magnificent, opening the doors in the morning and sipping on coffee on the deck watching the sun rise was my daily ritual. It was a nice surprise to have chairs and snorkeling equipment available to us. Grocery and Walmart minutes away for quick pickup items. The must see sights were just 10-20 minutes away. We visited the caves, snorkeling in the bay, national park and the gardens.

We have been to Hawaii 15 times and this was our favorite home to enjoy. Everything from the spacious, beautifully landscaped yard and comfy lanai (even with a fan!) down to the soft cotton sheets and towels was so enjoyable and made us feel so cared for and simply in paradise. I also appreciated the condiments in the fridge, coffee and soy sauce in the cupboard. It was lovely having Michelle across the street and we enjoyed some coconuts from the property. The ocean was a 5 minute walk and was spectacular. We will surely return. Thank you, Michelle! Aloha!

Susan's place in Kea'au is beautiful, convenient to Hilo and Volcano National Park, yet right on the ocean. Surrounded by the sights, sounds and smells of the ocean make this a great place to get away from the city.

We loved staying here. The property was spectacular -- we really enjoyed walking along the cliffs looking over the ocean, and we spent hours in the pool. The pool was the perfect temperature. The beds were comfortable, the home is spacious, and we enjoyed sitting out on the lanai in the mornings and evenings. The neighborhood was also great for walking/running. We'd love to stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone, especially if you're traveling with kids.

My family stayed at this place for a month (two adults, one toddler, one baby). We instantly felt right at home. We loved that you can see the ocean. We loved the sound of the birds, frogs & crickets. It’s a 2 minute walk from Maku’u Point, a scenic spot with breathtaking views of the ocean. It had WiFi and a desk so I could work remote. It’s close to Hilo and other cool places (my toddler loved the free zoo nearby). And there’s a pool! We spent so many evenings on the screened in lanai listening to nature & the ocean. Basically, I wish we were still there!

Lynne was very kind and helpful. We chose this tea house partially because of all the amazing reviews and it did not disappoint! We only wished we could have stayed a few more days! Lynne kept us informed about the lava flow and we got some amazing pictures and videos of the volcano! She also gave us great recommendations for food and places to see. We would definitely stay here again!

My partner, Stacey, and I stayed six nights here. Photos and descriptions are accurate. The property management company was extremely responsive to questions (i.e. seconds). We enjoyed the private and quiet, cliff-top ocean-view location. The location is very beautiful. Stacey enjoyed meeting the home-owner, Alan, who was present in his adjacent residence for a few days. We appreciated the box of beach goodies: chairs, umbrellas, beach matts, boogie board, floats, frisbee, etc. Kitchen is well equipped, and even had ice packs for the soft cooler that we brought with us to Hawaii. There were some basic cooking supplies that other guests presumably left behind (i.e. tea, cooking oil, sugar cubes, salad dressing). There was no coffee, however. We contributed peanut butter to the stockpile. YMMV.

We just had the best family trip to Hawaii, and it was because of this magical place! The property is beautiful- on a gorgeous orchid, super private, and with a nice little path to walk and explore. The house is huge. We had 12 people (3 families), and it was very comfortable. Everyone had plenty of space, and most of the bedrooms even have 2 beds, which was really convenient. One of the best parts was that every bedroom had its own bathroom, so there was no waiting around for showers or getting ready. The kitchen was amazing—commercial appliances and even a griddle! There’s also plenty of space to hang out, both inside and outside, which was perfect for our group. Also, the rooms are pretty soundproof. We had a baby with us, and no one heard her crying at night. Overall I HIGHLY recommend staying here if you want a relaxing stay with lots of space for a large group. Moon was so nice and responsive and even brought us extra towels during our stay.

This was our third stay at Maureen’s house, and we are already planning the next one. My only regret is not staying longer. It’s perfect.

Remote (and we like remote), private and quiet setting. Off the grid, but comfortable. Location a bit of a drive, but great for viewing lava and wave action on the beach. Not swimmable though due to recent lava flow. Awesome stay.

This place was truly magical. Like being in the middle of the jungle but with every creature comfort you could need. The location along the coast is spectacular. I was sad I couldn’t stay longer. Minor disappointment not having access to the roof deck as advertised but only because it sounds from other reviews that getting up there is icing on the cake. 10/10 would stay again.

The place was very nice. It looks like a vintage house but fully remodeled with all the amenities of a new house. It would have been a challenge to find using a map app but Jeff provided detailed instructions and we found it easy to navigate to the house. The house is near the end of a quiet lane so there was no traffic. There were a variety of wildlife outside the house including geckos, lizards and little chirping frogs to add to the experience.

If you want to feel like you are in a rainforest treehouse then look no further. The sound of the coqui frogs and birds was beautiful. This is a simple, nicely laid out space. Deck is where we spent most of our time. Enjoyed saying hello and goodby to the sun from the shore. Ask how the hot water saving measures work. Once you know it's not an issue. 😊 Corner store nearby, about 8 minite drive.
