Thank you for taking the time to look at my property. This accommodation is part of Riviera Resort a family run 2nd generation resort. I live in the property and will be glad to assist you. We have around 30 staff and reception desk to welcome you on arrival.
While you are at my resort you will have access to all the resort’s facilities and activities such as restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, bicycle & kayaks to hire. We are looking forward to welcoming you soon.

Welcome to Riviera , an idyllic, eco-friendly family-run guest house in Batticaloa, on the eastern coast of Sri Lanka.
The Resort was established in 1981 and borne out of the desire to preserve nature and share our picturesque corner of Sri Lanka with guests from all over the world. Riviera Resort, which is within the city limits, has been a labour of love.



It started off as a comfortable family villa and the accommodation has been added to over the years with chalets and simple cabanas. The resort has fifteen double and single air-conditioned and non air-conditioned rooms. It offers a modest reception hall, with a lagoon front seating area, which is ideal for open air meetings and garden parties.

A scenic panorama of lagoon, sea, historic Dutch fortress and the famous Kallady bridge.
A treat for artists and nature lovers alike, with picture perfect sunsets.
Within earshot of the famed music of the singing fish, audible during full moon days.
Secluded beach is just within a 10 minute walk.
1½ km from the town, 0.5km from the eastern railway terminal station. It just take $2 -3 for a tuk tuk ride to take you to Riviera Resort.
The resort has a 3 in 1 panorama of land, sky and water.

The resort with 0.5 hectares of land has a parkland setting with a rich biodiversity of flowering plants & local vegetation.
The sky is filled with numerous species of land based and aquatic birds, and butterflies adding a rich kaleidoscope of colour.

The lagoon and adjoining sea offer a wide variety of seafood including fish, prawns, crab and cuttlefish. Riviera Resort offers stunning views of the lagoon, which is an unparalleled beauty. The lagoon is navigable almost up to 45 – 50 km inland and it is dotted with many islets, many of which serve as verdant bird sanctuaries.

Fishing in small canoes is an age old tradition by local fishermen. Mechanized boat and canoe rides are common. In addition, activities including rowing, angling and birdwatching can be enjoyed during your stay at Riviera Resort.

At out resort you will be able to see our biogas plant, charcoal making and preparation of biochar for our organic garden.

We have a reception desk to welcome you on your arrival.

Once you are here you can use our complimentary city map to explore the Town and it’s attraction. The map has lot of information and indicates popular cycling and kayaking routes. You can also take a boat trip along the lagoon or hire scooters to explore Batticaloa at your own pace.

Where you’ll be

Kallady, Eastern Province, Sri Lanka

Riviera Resort is in the small town called Kallady which is sandwiched between the Batticaloa lagoon and the the popular Kallady Beach which is a 10 minutes walk from my resort. There are small shops to buy the essentials but the Batticaloa town center is only 2 km away.
